Emma and Jon were married in June of last year at Rookery Hall Hotel in Nantwich. Emma chose to wear a striking tiered wedding dress by Pronovias, purchased from Lace Bridal in Hale…
'I never thought I would go for strapless but when I tried my dress on I fell in love with it. It was so different. The shape and the tiered lace gave the illusion that I had curves!'
I've fallen in love with this style of dress while compiling this feature! The tiered detail really transforms a simple silhouette into something unique and pretty…

Emma paired her gown with an elegant lace edged veil. Doesn't it look beautiful cascading over the back of the dress? So pretty. The couple's photographer Katy Lunsford captured some amazing shots of this particular accessory. They almost make me wish I'd opted for a veil on my own wedding day…
The ensemble was completed with jewellery from Swarovski and an incredible pair of Christian Dior shoes. My personal weakness for shoes is well known among my friends and family. Let me assure you that this is one stunning pair of heels. I'm not jealous though, nuh uh {I am}...
The groom, Jon, wore a tuxedo by Hugo Boss. His slick black tie look provided inspiration for other details throughout the day, including the wedding cake by Jackie at Edesia Cake Designs…
Emma's maids wore champagne coloured dresses from Zara and the black tie theme continued in their accessories. I love the way the style of their dress subtly echoes the tiers on Emma's own…
Flowers were provided by The Black Rose in Knutsford. Emma chose blooms she felt would create a romantic feel. Tables at the wedding breakfast were adorned with silver bowls filled with roses. Emma sourced this great alternative to the traditional vase on Ebay…
The couple elected to entertain guests with a live saxophonist during the drinks reception. Alistair from Fonix music then went on to join the rest of the band in the evening.
Music featured heavily at other points throughout the day. The bride, accompanied by her Father, entered the ceremony to the sound of The Glasgow Love Theme from the film Love Actually. 'It's such a lovely piece of music' Emma told me. The ceremony also included live vocals from singer Victor Michael.
'We had our first dance to You’ve Got the Love by Candi Staton. We didn’t have a particular song that was ours, but felt this was a little more upbeat and the words very fitting.'
Words of Wedded Wisdom
'It is very hard not to please everyone and what you have to remember is that it is your day so do what feels right. Also try to get 10 minutes alone together.'
What a beautiful, chic affair, and a fantastic example of how a subtle theme can be weaved into your wedding day to great effect.
Congratulations Emma and Jon, and thank you so much for sharing your incredible photographs with us all at Love My Dress. The couple's day was captured perfectly by Katy Lunsford, don't you think?
'Katy Lunsford is a fantastic photographer, very unobtrusive, and a lovely lady who has provided us with wonderful memories of our day.'
Have any of you opted to wear a tiered dress on your wedding day? Are you feeling inspired by Jon and Emma's understated yet elegant black tie theme?
