Wedding Yurts ~ A Festival Inspired Photo Shoot to Launch a Magnificent New Addition…

“A
yurt is perfect for a unique wedding as, unlike any other venue, it
gives a bride and groom the freedom and flexibility to reflect their
personality on their special day.

Our yurts are absolutely ideal for couples
looking to avoid conventional weddings and embrace the delights of the
great outdoors.”

Lizzie Jones, founder of Wedding Yurts

I have a confession to make.

Sometimes, when no one else is around, I plan my OTHER wedding…

Don't worry, it features the same groom. It's our day, just done a
different way. You see, it can be hard to give up the wedding daydreams
once all the planning is over.

If we'd chosen to wed during the height of summer or on a balmy
spring day, instead of frost ridden mid-January, I'd have definitely
done in it in a Wedding Yurt

There's just something so inviting about all that cream canvas, and Wedding Yurts always seem to bring a little bit of luxury to whatever part of the beautiful British countryside they're set against. Besides, you just know there's going to be a good party when you spy a yurt. I'm determined to spend an evening in one eventually. Engaged friends take note 😉

Lizzie, founder of Wedding Yurts, commissioned the crafting of a brand-new super yurt back in 2011. It is the most elaborate, extravagant and largest yurt yet to be added to The Wedding Yurt portfolio.

After months of craftsmanship, the magnificent 32-ft handcrafted yurt has been completed and is ready to offer an intimate venue for engaged couples looking to escape mainstream wedding venues and recreate a festival chic vibe in the beautiful British countryside.

To celebrate the launch of the new yurt, Lizzie and her team organised a festival inspired photo shoot at one of their new yurt friendly venues called Sychpwll in Wales. The venue is set within beautiful natural surroundings, wild flower meadows and a kaleidoscope of butterflies. Heavenly…

Lizzie was joined by photographer Louise Holgate. Juliet from Paper Poms UK created a cascade of gypsy paper poms, Clare from The Wedding Club provided the stunning dresses and Amber Meredith Jones of Bunti Blue Designs provided the beautiful stationery.

Measuring 32ft wide, with a capacity to host a party for up to 150 guests, the luxury yurt has been handcrafted from sweet chestnut wood and covered in cream canvas. Handmade by two Welsh master craftsmen, the bespoke yurt took many months to create and boasts a finely finished framework…

Careful consideration was given to the design of the structure to ensure the 32-ft yurt was crafted in keeping with traditional methods. Originally yurts were used to provide shelter for nomadic tribes as they travelled across the plains of Asia herding sheep. The nomadic lifestyle appeals to Lizzie’s passion for travelling and with wedding yurts booked out to venues all over the U.K next year she and her partner Jim will be taking to the road.

Unlike other venues, Wedding Yurts provide the ideal solution for couples looking to host a reception that embraces Britain’s rural beauty without losing the luxury and style that bricks and mortar venues offer. Wedding Yurts pose a relaxed, magical and boutique atmosphere which is hard to create in a marquee…

Lizzie and Jim strive to deliver an intimate bespoke service, aiding couples down to the very last detail.  Expertly crafted packages, advising on beautiful, yurt-friendly locations, florists, entertainment and photographers are just part of the unique service offered to clients. The company is based in Bristol, but delivers throughout the UK. Lizzie & Jim personally transport, erect and dismantle the yurts and also offer assistance with decorating to a theme of your choice.

With an 80 person sit down and 150 person capacity, the new yurt facilitates those looking to host larger receptions. The yurts are also extremely flexible and can be ‘podded’ together to accommodate up to 250 people. Moreover, Wedding Yurts can be erected both indoors and outdoors, making them extremely versatile.
