Bridal Inspiration Boards #49 ~ Winter Florals

Hello everyone, I’m back with some more inspiration
for you. This week I’m focusing on two of my favourite subjects, flowers and
fashion. Flowers will forever be one of my main sources of creativity; from
tumbling roses picked in the garden to fantastic sculptural centre pieces,
flowers do so much more than look pretty they have an amazing ability to
transform and create any look on your wedding day.

This winter fashion hasn’t
packed away its summer blooms, flowers are popping up everywhere from beautiful
appliquéd lace to intricate prints you can’t ignore them instead of being light
and flirty they have gone rich, sumptuous and exotic – perfect for adding a
dash of drama to any occasion.

The colours really set the scene; jewelled
plums, magentas and fuchsia with dashes of damson, orange or turquoise create a
really dramatic palette. Keep your flowers on the wild side by keeping
arrangements loose and handpicked, choose vases that look like they have been
collected by a very stylish old aunt whilst on her travels many moons ago –
this look is all about being slightly mysterious and exotic. Mix your fabrics; tulles
satins and beautiful prints will create stunning results it’s all about being
as luxurious as possible.

You can have a lot of fun with the details
in this look, I adore this mixed place setting. The combination of the
patterned china, gold glassware and the layering of textures turns this table
into something really special. Floral print stationery looks delightful
especially in a slightly darker colourway like this turquoise and pink
combination. If your groom objects to floral stationery, try wrapping your
favors in a beautiful patterned paper instead; there are so many stunning
prints out there, pick a few and mix them throughout your tables.

Traditionally
when I think of a wedding I always think of round tables but I love the balance
of modern and vintage these long tables give, the dark wood chairs just look
fabulous. I can never resist a good desert and think a table filled with
jewelled coloured delights would taste as good as it looks!

For the dress, strong
shapes softened with tulle and jewelled details will look fabulous. The dresses
that I have picked all have a slight pewter tone to them, which would look
great when mixed with bridesmaids in plush purple tones. To keep the flower
theme running look for bridesmaid dresses with floral appliqués or try a flower
crown, the tonal shades in this one would be perfect for a winter wedding.
Finally, I haven’t forgotten about the boys I love the playfulness of this top
hat, a bit of debauched glamour would be a perfect compliment to this strong look.

I hope you have enjoyed
this weeks boards as much as I have. Thanks as always to Annabel and Franky for
having me, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.
