A Relaxed and Rural Lavender Celebration…

Morning all! Well now, as modern technology once again thwarted me
whilst I was on my business travels yesterday, there was no afternoon
post, and so today, I'm going to be blogging two weddings, starting with
this sweet, relaxed and rural affair and ending with something so
stonkingly cool and uber glamorous this afternoon, it will make you
weep.

Mary and Daniel tied the knot on 3rd August 2012 at The Curradine Barns, Shrawley, Worcestershire and I love their pretty, rural, lavender celebrations.   Award winning photographe Gemma Williams was there to capture these lovely images…

"We wanted something rural on a wedding day –
as I was brought up on a farm in Herefordshire. I liked the vintage
style dresses and fell in love with the Jenny Packham style dresses. I
wanted a relaxed atmosphere with quirky touches.

My dress was 'Claire' by Jenny Packham, which I purchased from Noble & Wright."

"I bought my dress from the wonderful Noble & Wright, who were so helpful and supportive from start to finish.   I love gentle, vintage style and the delicate design of Claire by Jenny Packham was perfect.."

"Originally
the necklace was Daniel’s grandmother Margarets. Daniel as a wedding
gift had the pearls restored and made into a necklace and earrings. A
beautiful lasting memento of his grandmother…"

"The florist was my mum Miranda Smith of Simply Flowers – I wanted a country feel and she got it exactly right with the jugs and urns…"

"I made all of my own bunting and created a sweet bar and photo tree…"

"I loved everything about our photographer Gemma Williams,
she was so approachable, supportive and got the feel of the day spot
on, for two people that don’t really like having their photo taken she
made us feel at ease straight away. I loved how she captured everything
in a quirky way. I would recommend Gemma to anyone! 5 star!"

"Our
ceremony readings we chose were Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de
Bernieres  which was read by Daniel’s Aunty Helen. The other reading was
by my sister Lisa."

"The wedding favours were home made jam made by the bride and a close friend Val. All of the fruit was hand picked."

"The
cupcakes were made again by family friends at
Special Ice; Shelia and Sarah Hitcheon –
I wanted a relaxed sort of tea party feel so opted for lots of
different cakes such as lemon drizzle, chocolate, ginger and rice
krispies as well as the traditional fruit cake."

met at Loughborough University where we both studied Sport and Exercise
Science in 2002. Daniel proposed whilst on holiday in New York in
December 2010 in Central Park."

Words of Wedded WIsdom…

"Try
and relax in the build up and soak it all in. You will never have all
the people you love in the room with you again and they are all there to
enjoy and be part of your day."

What a lovely delightful way to start the day 🙂

I love relaxed, rural style countryside weddings, always something so 'heart warming' about them. Any of you lovely people reading this this morning having a wedding similar to Daniel and Mary's?

Now, pop back this afternoon for something entirely different but so damn glamorous!

If you love Mary's style, you can see a tonne more Jenny Packham Brides on Love My Dress right here.

By the way, huge congratulations to Gemma Williams for winning the regional finals in The Wedding Industry Awards, well done Gemma!!
