As a girl with a mild obsession with all things sparkly, I'm always thrilled to
feature beautiful pretty wedding day accessories that I know my readers
will love. On my own wedding day, I wore a beautiful vintage inspired
comb in my hair, and cuff around my wrist designed from Flo &
I adore Flo &
Percy – Designer Kirsty Taylor got in touch recently to tell me about a brand new collection she's been working on, that launches today, the 'Lets Go Outside' collection…
"As our sister company Kitty & Dulcie sell wedding dresses, it was the natural thing to do to team their designs with ours. I wanted to design some unusual pieces this year that add something different to our portfolio. We wanted to give our brides an even better and bigger choice…."
"We picked up on some of our popular designs from the past and
updated them adding different design elements. Vintage inspiration is
still at the back of my mind but I wanted a modern feel too – and following
feedback from our stockists we also decided to add sashes, they are so
popular at the moment and we thought how wonderful it would be to match
your headpiece to the sash.
Apart from the sashes included in this
collection we can make a sash to match or compliment any design in our
portfolio and can also offer a variety of colours."
Isn't that an exquisite piece above? Just look at the craftsmanship at play – the intricate and delicate hand beading, it's just so beautiful. And from the 1920s forehead inspired jewels to vintage inspired to the very bohemian, 1970s inpsird headpiece…
I love how Kirsty has matched cuffs, sashes and headpieces. Who says you have to match though – why not mix and match?
I also love how Kirsty has so effortlessly blended vintage inspired with modern, it all just works so beautifully and cohesively well together as a collection…
And this collection offer a really good choice to brides of all styles too. From intricate pieces with tiny pearls hand sewn against crystals, to more floral, bohemian inspired designs like the Flowerchild forehead band below…
"The Lets Go Outside collection offers a heady mix of sparkle and flora blended with soft fabrics and intricate beading. We have combined the eras of the 20s, 30s and 50s and infused some modern chic to create eye catching headpieces, jewellery and sashes to compliment the dress trends for 2013."
Some of my favourite pieces in this beautiful new 18 piece colleciton include the sashes. The most chic, simple and elegant of wedding dresses could be accessorised with a beautiful piece like this…
For lovers of 1950's style weddings, this beautiful 'I Feel Pretty Birdcage Veil' attached to an even prettier rhinestone comb would be the perfect choice for your full-circle swirly twirly wedding dress. Add a gorgeous little clutch bag and some sparkly heels and you're all set to cause some major wow factor…
I interviewed Kirsty Taylor, the designer and founder behind the Flo &
Percy label for my Inspirational Women in Business feature – something I'm hoping to resurrect very soon. Kirsty is one smart cookie of a business woman and her passion for what she does is so evident within her interview. She lives, eats, breaths and goes to sleep thinking about beautiful wedding accessories…
Another thing Kirsty talks about in her interview is the importance of customer service. When I was one of Kirsty's customers, back in very early 2009, I felt like I was her most important client in the world – she really did make me feel valued. And the addition of a little sixpence piece inside my box of sparkle was such a delightful little touch.
My favourite sash in the collection, The Queen of Persia. I need one, if just to look at every now and then! And stroke (and dress up in whilst no one's watching)…
The 'Lets Go Outside' collection allows you to choose from 18 different designs, including the beautiful new sashes you see on this page. Each piece is lovingly handmade by a highly silled Flo & Percy team member.
Oh Kirsty, these pieces are absolutely beautiful, so beautiful, thanks so much for choosing Love My Dress to launch your new collection – I'm very proud that you did, and I know my readers will love the new Flo &
And brides – the prices of each piece are all clearly marked above, but if you have any queries at all, get in touch with Kirsty today, she'd be only too pleased to hear from you. You can find contact details on the Flo &
