Step 1:

Start with printing off this template (PDF file) on your home computer. The quality won’t matter as you will just be using them as shapes. As the shapes are symmetrical, you can fold along the middle at the dotted line, and cut out the two shapes.

Take one of your A4 Coloured card, and fold it length-wise down the middle, and cut it in half. You will only need one half for this Save the Date (save the other half for the next). Take the half and fold it length-wise down the middle again.

Fold your template X right down the middle, and slot it over the fold
of your coloured card. Trace out lightly with a coloured pencil and cut
out the shape.

Repeat this step with the O template with the
other piece of coloured card. You may double these steps to make
multiple Save the Dates and work faster!

Once the shapes are all cut out, stack your 2 Xs and align a hole
punch carefully over its centre. Punch a hole right in the middle. Start
with threading your ribbon through the X, securing a double-knot firmly
(but gently).

When threading through the Os, tie a single knot on both sides. This
holds the letter in place. Repeat again with both letters, making sure
the spacing between them are the same.

Attach a little flag at the end with your wedding date, then stack
and tuck all the letters into the mini envelope with the flag near the
opening.

Now onto the backing card:

Print “Save the Date” onto your card and paste your beautiful
engagement photo on one side. Flip the card, and paste the sealed
envelope on the other. Address the mini flap, stick a stamp in the
corner. Make sure all the pasted pieces are intact and secure.
