Happy Thursday afternoon to you. I'm just glancing over the posts we have prepared for tomorrow for you and they are gooooood! I can't wait to share! In the meantime, I've got a lovely set of photographs from our sponsor Eliza Claire to share with you – Eliza was selected by Glenn and Claire to capture their wedding imagery on camera. Their day took place on 29 September last year at Wasing Park in Alstermaston, Berkshire. I love a bride in Jenny Packham and a groom in a dark blue suit – such a chic combo.
"I wore the Willow dress by Jenny Packham, that I purchased from Morgan Davies Bridal in Hitchin, Herts. I
knew from the moment I put it on that it was the dress for me; the
shape, beading, detail on the back of the dress, I loved everything
about it and it really felt like it was made for me. I love that it
looked almost equally as beautiful from behind as it did from the front.
I would highly recommend Morgan Davies, they didn’t stock Willow but happily got it in for me to try on."

"When it came to my hair accessory, I had a bit of a nightmare as left this until the week before the
wedding but Morgan Davies Hitchin were brilliant and arranged for Morgan Davies
London to contact me and squeeze an appointment in the next day.
had a really big selection of headdresses and I luckily found one which
looked like it had been made to go with my dress. My earrings were a gift from my Nan (something new) and my Mum
lent me her vintage gold watch (old and borrow, the dressmaker sewed a
little blue ribbon in dress for something blue) – I decided to keep it
very simple as I didn’t want to distract from the beautiful detail on my
My shoes were by Nine West…"
"We used Cherubs Floral Designs
as Florist – they were recommended by the venue and we had loved all the work we’d seen by
them in the past at open days etc. We also felt it took some pressure
of us by having a florist who was so familiar with Wasing Park and knew
exactly what does and doesn’t work."
"We met when we were teenagers and were together for 3
years. After not seeing each other for 6 years we then bumped into each
other one morning in November 2006 on the Metropolitan line going into
London, after a few months of meeting up as friends we got back together
and got in engage in March 2011 on up a mountain during a snow storm
while skiing in Colorado. We booked our wedding in June 2012, we’d been
engaged for 18 months when we got married."
I spy an Alphabet Bag! Brilliant idea as gifts for your flowergirls or to pop some bits and pieces in for the little ones attending your wedding to keep them entertained!
"I think Eliza Claire's
photographs speak for themselves and show just how good she is, we’re
over the moon with our photos, my Mum has nine up in her living room!"
"I had my two sisters Lucy and Katherine as bridesmaids. After
searching what felt like ever shop in London we decided to have them
made so we could get the exact colour and style we wanted. I found a
dressmaker who very conveniently is based on the same road as my house
(Lynne at Stitch Solutions, High St, Northwood, Middlesex 01923
827130). She was absolutely fantastic, we chose the skirt from one
dress and the top of another, the dresses turned out even better than we
"We loved Wasing Park as soon as we started to look around, we
were looking for a relaxed barn style venue and the added bonus of a
little church within the grounds made it perfect for us, it was
brilliant to have to not worry about how everyone was going to travel
between the church and reception venue."
""Despite being terrified of it in the lead up the wedding
but favourite part was the church ceremony, very closely followed by the
speeches and party!
My sister in law Nina sang Songbird by Eva Cassidy during
the signing of the register accompanied by our friend Abraham Dewry on
guitar. Abraham and his brother Alfie played guitar during the drinks
reception and wedding breakfast. Evening entertainment and lighting was
provided by Moonraker Discos who we couldn’t recommend enough, the
lights transformed the Castle Barn for the evening and the dancefloor
was full all night. Our very good friend Chris Foltin read the religious
reading 1 Corinthians 13 – The Gift of Love and my brother David chose
to read “O Tell Me The Truth About Love by W H Auden."
For all you Jenny Packham lovers, you can lose yourself in a Packham style reverie right this way. Don't say I didn't warn you that you might be a while.
Huge thanks to Eliza Claire for so generously sharing her photographs to inspire you all today, and thanks also to Claire for so willingly sharing how she planned her day. Congratulations Claire and Glenn!
