Morning blog lovers, I'm starting today off with a little something different but no less super-stylish than our usual photoshoot offerings. These 'fresh out of Vogue magazine' style images come to you from David Whickham of Modern Vintage Weddings, who worked with Makeup Artist Gemma Sutton and Alex of Bijou Bride to create a shoot with a vintage aeronautical appeal and it simply oozes sophistication.
I adore these images – they are un-apologetically glamorous; a sexy peplum here, a tilt of those gold, designer sun glasses there, chic 1920s meets 1970's curls and feathers to keep her shoulders warm of course – this is a first class ticket to vintage bridal glamour. David tells us more about the shoot…
"Have to start by saying that I loved this shoot! My friend Hair and Make
Up Artist Gemma Sutton had the idea of a bridal inspiration shoot using
vintage aeroplanes a while ago, so the hunt was on for the perfect
venue…"

"When we visited Brooklands Museum, they were so friendly, and the
fact that they actually host weddings made it seem perfect (you can
even get married on the stationery Concorde there!). I have worked with
super stylist Alex, the The 'Bijou Bride' before, and knew she would be
perfect for this project.
Alex sourced beautiful gowns from Luella's
Boudoir and matched them with new pieces from The G&D Collection by Donna Crain to give the wow factor to the looks…"
"The idea we came up with together was to photograph a story that was
modern, but had vintage luxury elements we hoped might inspire brides to
be who were considering a travel theme for their wedding. I am big fan
of aeroplanes and travel a lot shooting destination weddings but never
had the chance to fly on board Concorde so this was of course the next
best thing.
Our bride for the day, Sophie, was travelling somewhere
fabulous to her honeymoon, in style. That was the idea, and The Bijou Bride, perfectly styled the look with golds and deep reds, to give a
luxurious feel to the setting."
Gorgeous gorgeous headpieces in this shoot – they are by The G&D Collection by Donna Crain whose designs I'm a huge fan of…
Told you it was rather glamorous didn't I? Huge thanks to the very talented creative team behind these images. Please take a moment to visit their respective sites below. You can actually see more from Modern Vintage Weddings on Love My Dress here.
Who is loving these set of images as much as me?
