Gypsophila Flower Crowns And A Beautiful Bespoke Gown

Good morning lovelies!  Did you have a good weekend? Are you feeling rested and ready to go?  Let us help you on your way this morning with the wedding of Lou and Rik, who tied the knot on 5th April 2013 and celebrated afterwards with a reception at Ham Polo Club in Richmond, Surrey.

I'm a little bit in love with the pretty gypsophila flower-crowns created by florist Steph Turpin of Fairynuff Flowers at this wedding…

"Rik and I met through a mutual friend, who was also one of my best friends
from school that went to uni with Rik.  Rik proposed when we were on
holiday in Marrakech – all very romantic! We were engaged for ine months
before our wedding day.

We wanted the
wedding to be very relaxed and fun, a real party atmosphere with close
family and friends – but to help guide is us in planning and styling, we used the words magical, elegant and country
barn! There were lots of lanterns, fairy lights, candles, bunting and little shabby chic
signs etc.

"Steph Turpin at Fairynuff Flowers was our florist.  We
chose very simple white and foliage for the table centres and had lavender
plants on the stairs and bay trees with fairy lights. I had white and
dusky pink roses in my bouquet and the bridesmaids carried white blooms.

Steph was great to work with – she made gorgeous gypsophila flower-crowns for all the bridesmaids."

"We chose to have three readings during our ceremony; 'Oh, The Place You'll Go', by Dr Seuss, 1  Corinthians 13.4-7  and 'The
House at Pooh Corner' by AA Milne.  We had the quote ‘if you live to be
a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never
have to live a day without you’ on the back of the order of service.  We
choose them because I am a primary school teacher and we also wanted
readings that were light hearted and a little different to the norm."

"My dress was from The Wedding Dress Shop in Wimbledon Park. The lady who owns the shop, Mariola, actually designed my wedding dress.

I adored the style and especially loved the lace bolero and silk skirt. It was a very classic and elegant – reminiscent of something Grace Kelly would wear, without being too prim!"

"Our photographer was Claudia Rose Carter
– She was absolutely great! We loved all the photos and especially
loved the photo booth that she provided for us. Wonderful and very down
to earth, we found it really easy to relate to her."

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Just to remember that all the stress,
tears and hard work, really truly does pay off and I was so happy to
see my ‘wedding file’ come to life! One top tip – the whole day and
evening fly by – so try to take time to treasure every minute.

We didn't provide favours, people loved pegging their name tags to themselves though!"

It was so wonderful to have all our family and friends in one place
for a great party! Rik’s speech was amazing, my dad’s was so touching
and the best men were good but embarrassing! One of my bridesmaids wrote
a poem for me, which was emotional too!
