Miss Vintage Wedding Affair ~ 20 October 2013, Battersea Arts Centre, London

The UK is awash with wedding fairs right now, and it's difficult to know which ones to make the effort to attend – and it's important you know, because there are some excellent fairs out there.  I know I've certainly attended my fair share of not so brilliantly organised fairs in the past – and I've also attended a number of superbly arranged events too.

How do you know which to visit?

I'm keen to help you sort out the wheat from the wedding fair chaff by championing a small number of events through Love My Dress. Today, I'd like to tell you about the Miss Vintage Wedding
Affair
, because it's the perfect event for all you quirky and vintage-loving brides.

Following three successful fairs
catering for creative brides-to-be, the fourth Miss Vintage Wedding
Affair
will
be held at Battersea Arts Centre on Sunday 20th October 2013 from
11am until 4pm. If you can’t attend the autumn event then there will be another
spring fair at BAC on the 30th March.

The fair, run by vintage-enthusiast and fine artist, Amelia
Barnes, has become renowned for its focus on high-quality and original suppliers
offering handmade wedding services with a focus on stylish, contemporary
vintage.

Many of the wedding industry’s most talented and unique suppliers are
already confirmed on the exhibitors list, including Annamarie
Stepney Photography
, Beaubuttons,
Love Art Wear Art shoes, Vintage Floral Teas, Fiona Kelly
Photography
, Lindsay Fleming and many more.  With so many original vintage wedding dresses
and bespoke designers it’s the place to find your dress.

Affair
– see the full credit list below.

Organiser, Amelia Barnes says: “I wanted to provide
something to brides that couldn’t just be ordered off the internet or bought
off the peg. Much of what was offered to me for my own wedding was part of a
package or mass produced with high pressure sales techniques involved and
lacking in the quality and craftsmanship I was after. In the end, I made
everything myself – and exhausted myself in the process!”

She adds: “I hand pick the suppliers for Miss Vintage
Wedding Affair to ensure quality and originality, so that brides can come and
talk to the person who will make their wedding dress, see samples of goods up
close and discuss their own wedding with an expert who can tailor their
services to meet brides’ needs. In short, it’s for brides who want something
inspired and a little bit special.”

In addition to its list of creative exhibitors, Miss Vintage
Wedding Affair is well known for being a full vintage wedding experience. The
first 400 brides to arrive at the fair will receive a goodie bag, filled with
exciting gifts. Musicians such as The Vintage DJ, Vintage Rose Lancaster and
Chris Ward Guitarist will provide entertainment throughout the day, and
interactive stalls such as Lucy Lou’s Pop-Up Parlour will give brides the
opportunity to relax, be pampered and try out styles for their big day. There
will also be an amazing interactive photo-booth installation by Rhapsody Road
Photography.

London caterers, FEAST, will be on hand to tempt brides with
a full lunch menu of nutritious, mouth-watering food for lunch and afternoon
tea  and a glass of bubbly in the vintage
tea room.

Amelia says “Planning a wedding should be a fun experience,
and Miss Vintage Wedding
Affair
is designed to be a fun day out, with healthy and
delicious meals available and plenty of time to relax and chat to suppliers
without feeling tired, hungry or pressured. We want our brides to feel at home
and to get the most out of the day – to come away feeling energised and
inspired."
