Sassi Holford Style For An Elegant English Spring Time Wedding

It's been a busy day here on Love My Dress, we've had 3 posts already (see here, here and here).  Our final wedding today comes courtesy of the award winning, talented and downright super lovely Anushé Low.

Chris and Ann-Louise got married on 21st April 2012 at The Manor House in Castle Combe, Wiltshire.

"We wanted an elegantly classic wedding with a vintage twist. We wanted to take our vows in church and be able to walk with family and friends to our wedding reception. We were blessed with sunshine in the rainiest April on record which made our day perfect!

The most special part of our wedding day was during our wedding
ceremony after we signed the marriage register and we were standing as
man and wife at the alter. It was magical."

"Our florist was Jill Jeffries.
We wanted antique/vintage style flowers to fit in with the theme. I had
a slight trailing bouquet with amnesia roses, white freesias,
eucalyptus and jasmine. My table arrangement flowers are on her table
arrangement section of her website."

"My dress was by Sassi Holford. 
Grace Kelly’s wedding dress was my inspiration and I had always dreamt
of a Sassi Holford dress. I loved the neck line and diamonty sash around
the waist line.

The lace was so incredibly elegant and seamlessly fit
as a jacket which I was able to remove for the evening reception. I
loved the lace design so much that the lady who designed my wedding cake
copied the design onto the icing of my wedding cake!"

"Chris and I met through friends and with a love for cycling we
soon became inseparable. We were engaged one year later. Chris proposed
as the clock struck midnight into my birthday in Paris. We were engaged
for 1 year before we were married, it was the perfect amount of time for
planning a wedding! 

We grew up locally to Castle Combe and as it is considered one of
the most beautiful villages in the UK we knew it would be perfect for
our spring wedding."

"The wedding stationary was so important to us. Cutture
designed all our stationary and everything was perfectly matched to the
theme of our wedding day. Even our invitations were bespoke, we wanted
them to set the scene for our big day."

Ann Louie's bridesmaids dresses were from Dessy…

"My Father walked me down the aisle to the traditional bridal chorus! 

Our
vows were traditional Church of England vows. We had gone through them
with the Reverend at his house and also in our rehersal, so we were so
glad we managed to say them without a stummer. 

We had two readings. The grooms mother chose the Prophet by Khalil Gibran and the brides’ brother chose Plato’s Symposium.   

My friend also sang Ave Maria during the ceremony."

"We made Mr & Mrs Salt salt pots for favoured, as Salt is our
surname! I couldn’t resist and made rosemary cooking salt and placed
into little glass jars. The wedding stationary company made the tags to
attach."

"The Fairy Cakery
made our cake. The wedding cake was incredible! The design was to
shadow the lace on my wedding dress. I sent a sample to Jo at The Fairy
Cakery and she stunningly crafted our beautiful wedding cake. We saved
the top tier for the christening of our future child and low and behold
we had a honeymoon baby and Harriet was christened on 19th May this year
and the cake tasted just as delicious!"

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"Ask
friends and family to help and delegate jobs to do! I planned most of
our wedding and I think I would have been less stressed in the lead up
to the big day if I had asked for more help! Also know what your budget
is and stick to it!

Finally, I would definitely recommend Love My Dress to friends planning their big day!"
