Morning everyone, how are you feeling this fine Tuesday morning? The sun is shining bright up here in the North East UK, I hope it is wherever you are too.
This romantic and dreamy wedding day we're featuring this morning took place back in the summer at Lemore Manor in Hereford, where Rod and Raku tied the knot. I absolutely adore bride Raku's natural elegance – her dress choice, her hair, makeup, that incredible smile – just beautiful.
"Finding the dress was a lot harder than I expected, especially as I didn’t have a defined idea of my dream dress when I started the process. However, with the heroic help of one of my bridesmaids, and a lot of weekends spent in wedding dress shops, I finally found my dream dress. I loved that it was so soft and romantic. It is by a London based Nepalese Designer Sanyukta Shrestha. The ladies at London Bride Couture on Churton Street were absolutely amazing as they helped me with all the alterations and made it just perfect for me."
"Rod and I met over 12 years ago when were both both at University and 21! We went to see Lemore Manor a week after Rod proposed and absolutely fell in love with it and it’s surroundings. Once we decided on Lemore it set the tone for the wedding. We knew straight away that it would be the perfect place for our family and friends to celebrate and relax together for a weekend."
"My favourite moment was the ceremony, I loved every moment of it, from walking down the aisle to singing by Rod’s sister, seeing all of my friends and family, who were all looking happy and beautiful, the reading by my cousin and prayer at the end by our mutual friend. It was so perfect! And it didn’t rain."
"Our favourite aspect of the wedding was the location. Although at first we were a little concerned that Lemore Manor was far from where we live in London, once we got there and started planning our wedding with the local suppliers, we knew it was going to be an amazing day for us.
Everyone involved was so helpful and some went beyond the call of duty to help us. The owners of Lemore were absolutely fantastic - as if we had wedding planners! They helped us find the perfect suppliers for each element of the wedding from the marquee to suggesting all of the amazing bed and breakfasts for our 150 guests. It has to be said, all 15 B&Bs that we booked out were amazing and really looked after everyone. It really felt like the whole community was helping us along and wishing us well, which we found to be really special."
"My bridesmaids dresses were from J Crew. Also, lilies are my favourite blooms, so we had a lot of pink lilies provided by Stems Leominster, along with pink roses with lots of minty green foliage, though I had a bouquet of Ivory flowers to compliment my dress."
"Having all of our family and friends from Kenya, Ethiopia, Canada, USA and all over Europe was amazing!"
Words of Wedded WIsdom…
"I think weddings are very personal so make it your own and modify your day to suit you and your guests.
We added a prayer to the end of the ceremony and we had Ethiopian food and three cakes so that our parents could also cut a cake each, as we wanted to thank them."
Such a beautiful day, so much elegance and joy! I just love it.
Thank you so much Theresa Furey for sharing these beautiful images, and huge congratulations to you Rod and Raku on your gorgeous weddding.
