Jenny Packham Sequin Glamour For A Black Tie, City Chic Winter Wedding

In our final post for today we're sharing Emilie and Mark's city-chic wedding.  The couple chose to marry on 5 January this year at Farm Street Church in Mayfair – a Catholic church chosen for it's aesthetic beauty.  Their wedding reception took place at the Four Seasons on Park Lane, which Emilie told me was chosen because it is a stunning venue with world-class staff and service.

Emilie, who works in the jewellery industry, designed her engagement ring and both her and Mark's wedding rings, wanted a wedding day that oozed classic elegance.  Their photographer, Sarah Salotti sent in these lovely winter warming images.

"We chose black tie for the guys and sequined glamour for the ladies. We also wanted the clothes and design to mirror the feel of a city wedding. We wanted our style to reflect the importance of the day, so aimed for a sharp, smart look."

"Mark and I met at university and were together for years before Mark surprised me on holiday. We got engaged after he wrote the proposal in torchlight, wrapped up the photos and gave them to me as a gift. We were then engaged for just over a year before the wedding day.

My dress was by designer Jenny Packham.  It was like nothing else that I saw, and seemed the perfect combination of elegance with a relaxed shape. The beading also worked perfectly for  a city wedding where fun and glamour were the essence."

"Décor was kept simple with pretty florals, candles and uplighters.

I chose a selection of flowers I liked in the colours I felt worked with the style of the day. I asked my florist, Denise Robinson from Creative Flowers in Ingatestone, to make the bouquets as she wanted using the flowers that were available. I only asked that they all be different from each other."

"Our photographer was Sarah Salotti.  Sarah and her husband Marco shot the day and were fun, hard-working, professional and talented. We couldn’t be happier with our photos!"

"My Friend Karen Kirreh made the cake. One was Pistachio and the other Vanilla. The flowers were added by the florist."

"Mark’s Dad’s band The Vintage Corporation played at the wedding and were the talk of the night.  The band kicked off the dancing with' I’ll be there' by the Jackson 5."

Words of Wedded Wisdom…

"I know it’s easy to say, but don’t panic! Everything works itself out on the day because, ultimately, everyone’s there to celebrate with you and have a good time. Also plan who you want photos of as you don’t have time to think of it on the day. Our photographer had the list we we had made and ensured they all got taken."
