The Secret Vintage Wedding Fair, Manchester, 23rd March 2014

Happy Saturday folks! First of all, did you see this super lovely 60’s retro inspired wedding we shared yesterday afternoon?  I’ve a little post to charm and inspire you today, courtesy of vintage props and china hire company, Pretty Little Trio Vintage, and their new venture, ‘Secret Vintage Wedding Fair‘.

‘These images have been created to promote the Secret Vintage Wedding Fair which is taking place on Sunday the 23rd March, 2014 at a historic secret location in the heart of Manchester City Centre. The event is being organised and hosted by Rebecca Jenkinson, founder of  Pretty Little Trio Vintage – who for 4 years now has been hosting secret vintage tea parties for brides and others who enjoy celebrating tea and cake in style.

‘I’ve always wanted to organise a wedding fair but wanted to be offering something different and thought this might be a fun way to do it.   Everyone loves a good secret, and we felt that launching our wedding fair with a little intrigue and mystery would be a fun.  The exact location of the event remains a secret for now and will be revealed in the coming weeks with the help of Love My Dress and other clues being released in the run up to the day via thesecretvintageweddingfair.co.uk website.’

‘The ‘secret’ behind the ‘Secret Vintage Wedding Fair’ comprises the exact (secret!) location of the fair and the ethos that we are gathering together in one place with fabulous folks, who are the secret to the success of an amazing big day. The venue for Secret Vintage Wedding Fair is a licensed wedding venue – there has never been a wedding fair there before and it has never been featured on a wedding blog before as this was the first shoot there. So its quite exciting.’

‘We wanted to celebrate the industrial roots of the location of the fair, which has that classic warehouse vibe that is very popular in weddings in the US right now, but not so easy to find over here in the UK. ‘Industrial vintage’ is a real emerging trend and is a brilliant way of having a vintage style wedding in a city location where the more rustic barn style wedding isn’t an option.  We were also really keen to show that a vintage inspired wedding can be super glamorous and pretty when placed along side soft textures, metallic and pretty touches.’

‘Of course, some of the brilliant North West UK wedding suppliers who are exhibiting at the event also participated in creating these images too, which were captured by Lucy Greenhill PhotographyFor the purposes of our photo-shoot, we decided on a slightly old 1930’s hollywood glamour vibe with beautiful punches of spring yellows, gold, silver and coppers too.  We also felt that a hint 1940’s pinup style for the outdoor shots would work well.

Our model, Naomi, wore beautiful dresses designed by Fiona Cooper at The Wedding Boutique in Cheshire and Erica Stacey Bridal – who’s designs evoke that elegance of the bygone era perfectly. This was complemented beautifully by hair and makeup by Anna from The Vintage Beauty Parlour who will have a pop up vintage beauty parlour on the day.

‘We dressed the tables with china, silver wear, books and gramophone that are all available for hire via my company Pretty Little Trio Vintage and we used beautiful spring flowers by the talented Heather at Living Colour Floral Design.’

‘The luggage, heart, wooden chairs and the striking oversized balloons were supplied by lovely Jenny, who has some awesome props and one off pieces to hire via her company Not Your Average Day.  The pretty paper folded flowers (on the silver tray shot) were by Sue and Maeri at the The Make and Do Studio, who will be running crafting workshops on the day for brides to try their had at some DIY touches like pom pom making and low sew bunting.

‘The cakes are from the very skilled Francesca at Mobely The Cheshire Cat Cake Company and we have to confess to scoffing a few of the macrons. The beautiful elegant stationery from Emma at Hattie Boo Designs worked beautifully with the hand-printed and cut silk butterflies that adorned the tables by Sophie at Flutter Designs.’

‘All of the brilliant folks involved in the shoot will be at the Secret Vintage Wedding Fair as well as venue dresser’s extraordinaire Fabric Theatre who will be draping the venue, genuine vintage gowns from Ann at Very Vintage Bridal, music from vintage vocalist Heather Marie, Matt and Annabel of ‘It’s A Wind Up!’ – vintage 78‘s gramophone DJ’s, the lovely Caroline White Photography , the art deco gem of a venue that is The Midland Morecambe, stunning jewelery by Smita at La Pearle and Craig and the team from Whitfield and Ward Suit Hire & Tailoring will be on hand to get the gents suited and booted too.’
