Fellows ~ Antique & Modern Jewellery Auction in Birmingham on 17th April 2014

I’ve always thought auctions look terribly exciting. The steadily increasing price, the subtle nod of an expert buyer and the rapid back and forth of people attempting to outbid each other. It’s certainly a unique way to shop!

Fellows, one of the UK’s leading auction houses, recently got in touch to tell us about an upcoming event we think will be perfect for brides-to-be. A sale of exquisite antique and modern jewellery is taking place on 17th April at 11am. Located in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, Fellows host most of their auctions live online, including this one, which means anyone in the world can place bids without ever leaving the comfort of their own home!

The auctions all provide an eclectic mix of vintage and modern pieces, and are an exciting alternative to conventional buying methods. If you’ve got an eye for it, you might even pick up a bargain too. Fellows sell items starting from £50 all the way up to £130,000 (the hammer price of a 8.88ct diamond ring that was sold recently).

‘Love My Dress readers should consider purchasing their wedding jewellery at Fellows because we offer an excellent selection of beautiful, unique items. Whether you’re looking for your forever ring or some stunning vintage pieces to add the final touches to your outfit, it is possible to find some incredible pieces at our auction.’

Chatting with the team at Fellows has made me realise just how much auctions have changed since the advent of the internet. You are now able to view the jewellery collections online and place bids without ever stepping foot in the auction room.

‘All of our pieces are catalogued in detail and available to view online, enabling you to get a detailed overview of the item before you place a bid. You’ll also be able to speak directly to any of our senior specialists who can offer honest advice on all the jewellery. If you live close enough, you are always welcome to visit us on one of our designated viewing days to handle pieces yourself.’
