Good afternoon all! How many of you are planning an Autumn wedding? And are you tying the knot this year? We've blogged so very many lovely Autumn weddings of late, I hope you can discover something of inspiration in our Autumn wedding pages, no matter what style of wedding you are planning. Jennifer and Patrick's wedding took place on 11th October last year at Larchfield Estate in County Down, Northern Ireland. This is a fun and contemporary wedding with lots of lovely vintage elements – think handmade bunting, vintage suitcases used for cake stands and to display old family wedding photographs. The bride also had a little bit of playful fun with some polka-dots.
"One of my friends described the day as 'a trip inside Jen's head'! My dress featured polka dots, and I used polka dot and vintage floral style fabric for making the invitations, all the stationery on the day and bunting in the marquee.
My favourite part was the ceremony, I think because I hadn't expected it to be my favourite, and it was just lovely. We both loved having everyone we loved in one place, celebrating with us, it really was the best day ever!"

"Patrick and I are childhood sweethearts. We got engaged a year before our wedding day after Patrick proposed in a car park (!) in Portrush (North Coast Northern Ireland) – we'd been for a cycle that day.
We chose Larchfield because we wanted somewhere that was flexible, we could decorate in our own way and bring in our own caterers. The venue is beautiful, the gardens were lovely in the autumn sunshine which we were lucky to have! The small marquee was perfect for a drinks reception and our Irish musicians, and the main barn for the wedding breakfast was a perfect size and looked fab. It was the first place we viewed, I remember my first glance at the miniature donkeys on the drive up to the venue and falling in love with it."
“I wanted colourful, but classic flowers, Heather at Flowery Potters was fab at listening to my ideas and turning them into something that actually worked and looked great! We used a selection of old jugs and vases from my Granny's farmhouse filled with autumnal flowers for the table centre pieces.”
Jennifer's dress was by designer Liliana Dabic and purchased from La Novia in Edinburgh.
“I immediately loved the polka dots and the sweetheart neckline. The designer and staff at La Novia were so brilliant in helping me add the extra bits I wanted to make it perfect ( the removable bolero with buttons down the back and the silk bow belt).”
Jennifer's gorgeous 1930s inspired dance shoes with a gold t-bar were by Bertie.
“Our cake was baked by mum and decorated by me! It looked a bit like the leaning tower of Pisa and was very difficult to cut (because we forgot to add glycerine which turned out to be quite a vital ingredient) but we thoroughly enjoyed making (and eating!) it.”
"Our photographers were Epic Love; we loved our photography! Was great having Rob there on the day as he fitted in really well and we felt totally relaxed with him."
