Mid-Day Movie: Love, Joy and Happiness at St Andrews

I’ve the loveliest wedding film to share with you this lunch time, sent in by film makers Stewart & Alina of White Balloon Wedding Films.  This is the wedding of Christy and Eddie who tied the knot on 26 April this year at St Salvator’s Chapel and Kinkell Byre in St Andrews.  Christy shares why it was so important to have their wedding filmed and why they chose White Balloon Wedding Films to document it.

I really love this sweet film and sound-track. And that dress!

“Growing up in different parts of the world, Eddie and I had so many friends and family who were able to make it to our wedding but inevitably, there were those who couldn’t and this was one of the main reasons for us booking Alina and Stewart at White Balloon Films to capture our wedding.  We absolutely loved the highlights video they produced and it has been so perfect to be able to send the link to our family and friends, especially the ones who couldn’t make it to Scotland.   For Eddie and I, Alina and Stewart captured the fun that we all had perfectly and I guarantee that we will never get tired of watching the video.

Moreover, shortly after our wedding, we received beautifully packaged DVDs containing the full video of our day.  We actually felt like a guest at our own wedding watching our ceremony and speeches!  The day was such a blur at the time but being able to relive the experience through our own wedding film has been great for us.”

Stewart of White Balloon Wedding Films also shared some details of why this particular wedding was so very special to film…

“Every wedding Alina and I attend reminds us of how lucky we are to be able to capture on film couples special moments at such special places.  The wedding of Christy and Eddie Hamilton was a wedding filmmaker’s dream with not only two incredible venues but two lovely people who were so clearly in love and having the time of their lives that the joy and happiness just leaps from the screen when you watch the video.

We never pose our couples so every smile, laugh or tear is a natural, genuine display of emotion from an individual unaware they are being filmed.  There is a subtle honesty to our work and this is the way we like to tell the story of the day, naturally and discretely.

As for the venues, St Andrews is a beautiful historic town with a pervading sense of history and tradition that consumes you when you are there.  St Salvator’s Chapel is the perfect venue for a wedding ceremony full of gravitas.  However, Christy and Eddie perfectly combined the old and the new on their day.  The converted barn of Kinkell Byre, just a couple of miles outside the old town, was host to the one of the most beautifully dreamy, of-the-moment weddings we have been lucky enough to attend.  When one hires Kinkell Byre, the decoration, catering, entertainment etc. is then a matter for the couple to arrange.

As a consequence, each wedding is different and as can be seen from the video, Christy and Eddie did an incredible job of creating a rustic but truly classy setting for their reception.  The miniature golf certainly went down a storm!”

Just beautiful. Huge thanks to Stewart & Alina of White Balloon Wedding Films for sharing their work to inspire us all.  Please take a moment to visit their website at whiteballoonfilms.co.uk.  You can find White Wedding Films on Facebook and Google+.
