Covet Love: A classic jacket, pretty trainers and the perfect red lipstick

Well with all the hullaballoo of award winning and travelling of late, we’ve missed out on some of our Friday ‘Covet Love’ features this past couple of weeks, so today, we’re going to be sharing two sneaky peeks into the LoveMyDress team’s browser shopping history starting with my own 😉 After all, we all enjoy a little break from weddings every once in a while, don’t we?

There’s nothing cosier than curling up with a good book and a cup of tea in the lamplight while the wind howls outside! These gorgeous hand-painted Plantation Collection mugs by Bianca Hall will ensure I am drinking my tea in style.  As the weather didn’t quite cool in September, it’s hard to start thinking of heavy winter coats. As I was browsing for a snug parka I came across this beautiful tweed single breasted jacket from The Kooples, and I can’t get it out of my head, after all it would go with everything… and look really cool layered with a chunky knit solving the ‘winter coat’ issue. It could also be dressed down with skinny jeans and these Nike x Liberty leaf print high tops.

I know I’m not the only one on a quest to find the most flattering red lipstick! This semi-matte in ‘heat wave’ by Nars was recommended to me recently so it’s next on my makeup splurge list. Have you found your perfect red yet? I’d love to hear any suggestions, I’m quite new to this lippy business!

The nights are drawing in so it’s the perfect time to invest in some good lighting. I love this understated grey Tripod lamp and the adjustable height means it can be used as a side lamp or as a corner statement.

Lately my sewing machine has been a little neglected, I love to sew but find little time to sit down and make anything anymore so I’m going to sign up for a Quilting class to get me started on a new project. I have so many small pieces of beautiful fabric that need a loving home and it’s the perfect way to make use of them all together.

Perfume has been on my radar much more than usual since my fellow features writer Susie wrote this lovely post. I only wear perfume occasionally because I haven’t found ‘the one’ and have yet to buy a perfume twice. Last week by chance I stumbled upon Le Labo perfume, trying their Rose 31 was a revelation, it’s not actually very floral, there’s a spicy note but it smells very natural and best of all didn’t wear off my skin quickly. I’m going to have to drop some hints for this one.

As I mentioned in a previous post I love going to different restaurants and London has an abundance of excellent vegetarian restaurants I am ticking off my list. Recently I had a delicious meal at Amico Bio an organic restaurant in Barbican, the food was so tasty that I am planning to visit their Holborn branch in the next few weeks.
