Most Curious, The Wedding Show – London & Norwich, Spring 2015

There are so very many things that have changed for the better and improved in huge leaps and bounds since I first started out in the wedding industry more than a decade ago. I shout a loud hurrah for the plethora of super talented small businesses that are making huge waves out of all proportion to their size and I raise a glass of something sparkly to all the couples that have done, or plan to do, something different with their wedding.

Another thing that makes me smile with happiness is that wedding shows are no longer huge markets with a corporate feel or rows of trestle tables packed into a bland hotel banqueting suite. They are now creative, interactive, expressive and inspirational events  – experiential style shows that have broken the mould.  I’m so happy to be here today to talk to you about the most splendid of this new breed of event, Most Curious, and tell you about their London and Norwich shows that will be shaking things up in early 2015.

“Gone are the days when there was a set way for weddings to look,” says Rebeccah Hoh-Hale, Founder of Most Curious, The Wedding Show. “Any couple with an ounce of creativity wants to make their day aesthetically about them too. We unite the expressive and loved-up with the right suppliers – both of whom have their finger on the pulse and creativity in their hearts!”

Exhibitors to the shows are handpicked and the main criterion is that they’re ‘cool and covetable’. There’s no prescribed vibe so banish all thoughts of the words ‘vintage’, ‘luxury’, ‘designer’ or ‘quirky’ and instead look forward to seeing a vibrant mix of brilliant wedding suppliers, ranging from utterly bespoke handmade creations to the coolest of the bigger brands. The only thing all the exhibitors have in common is their passion, homegrown attitude and spot-on attention to detail.

“We wanted to create a show that’s led by lifestyle trends and trends couples connect with in their every day lives,” says Rebecca. “We celebrate the most talented designer-makers, give a platform to emerging talent and, most of all, provide real and unique inspiration for expressive and style-savvy couples.

“Whilst we love fashion and design and interiors, we’re certainly not going to disappear up our Most Curious behinds!” laughs Rebecca.

“You may be a bona fide hipster and we may be just the show for you but we also know it’s fine to laugh about being a hipster or feel a little bit intimidated by it all despite wanting a touch of the hipster in your life and indeed in your wedding day. Don’t be ashamed or afraid – we’re here to help!”
