Happy weekend to you and welcome to spring! This is one of my favourite times of year – I love the longer days and the delicate beauty of the blossoms and tiny flowers that will be appearing soon. Lots of fresh goodness is on the way and it’s all rather lovely to behold. However, we don’t actually have to wait for pretty things because today, I’m just so happy to introduce you to a brand new bridal label that’s simply all kinds of wonderful. So, without further ado, let’s welcome the fabulous Cherry Williams London to Love My Dress…
“After ten years working in the costume industry as a costume maker, I started working with a prominent bridal designer and was lucky enough to work with lots of brides, creating bespoke and couture wedding dresses. It was through my experiences here that I noticed how many brides commented that finding beautiful bridesmaid dresses was incredibly hard. This inspired me to start my own brand, Cherry Williams London.”
Cherry’s fantastically original collection offers bespoke bridesmaids dresses in a range of fifty shades of pure silk. Based on one design, the gown itself is a chiffon dress that’s worn over a bias satin slip. The length of the dress can be altered, you can also add sleeves to completely change the look of the gown and there are so many options for finishing touches from accessories to belts that allow you to create gowns for your maids that are personal and individual.
“I’ve designed a unique style of dress which compliments varying figures and forms,” explains Cherry. “The gowns are completely bespoke and lovingly handmade by me in the studio so brides and bridesmaids have the option to change details of the design to suit their style and personal requirements.”
Designers from the 1920s and 1930s such as Madeline Vionnet and Erte inspire Cherry and her love of the elegance and glamour of the Art Deco period is clear to see in her timeless and feminine designs. In turn, I love the soft, billowing silk skirts on the bridesmaids’ dresses from Cherry Williams – they’re so flattering and delightfully graceful.
I’ve fallen for Cherry Williams London. To have so many options, so many choices and to be able to wear a beautiful bespoke, handmade gown is something that any bridesmaid would love.
Bespoke bridesmaids gowns from Cherry Williams London start at £270 and each dress comes with a bias satin slip, a silk chiffon over layer and a matching chiffon sash in a choice of fifty colours. Accessories, including ribbons, buckles, silk flowers, beaded sashes and embroidered motifs are also available from £20.
If you’ve every wondered what goes on behind the scenes on a designer photoshoot then you must take a peek at the video that’s on Cherry’s website – I love it! Once you’ve watched the film (repeated viewing is absolutely allowed!), there’s also plenty of practical information on the site and of course, you can contact Cherry Williams London to arrange an appointment, request fabric swatches or make another enquiry.
