Romantic and Stylish Wedding Photography From ‘Your Dear Image’

I love stories, I always have. Ever since I was a young, I’ve been addicted to tales of all kinds and even now, you’ll still find me sitting up late, unable to put a good book aside however late it might be. In fact, when people ask my partner the inevitable ‘but what exactly does Tamryn do?’ question, he always tells them I’m a storyteller and I have to say that I love that. So, when I find someone else who also uses this word to describe themselves, I couldn’t be happier. Please let me introduce to the visual storytelling of Annabelle Antas and Your Dear Image

Annabelle studied both Fine Art and Photography so blending the two to create beautiful wedding photographs was a natural progression for someone who adores capturing people and their stories.

I love to photograph weddings,” says Annabelle. “I like to shoot from the very start of the day until well after the first dance so I don’t miss a thing! Sharing, observing and capturing the details of such a special day is a huge privilege.”

Splitting her time between Raseborg in Finland and London, Annabelle travels far and wide with her cameras, recording the stories she sees as she goes. After years of commercial experience, she started shooting weddings after her own marriage as she developed a huge appreciation for the importance of fantastic wedding photography.

“It’s a day that deserves to be recorded honestly and intimately,” she says. “I’m really interested in the connections between people and I just love to work with my couples and get to know them as much as possible. These relationships mean everyone is wonderfully relaxed and the photos I take are incredibly real and tell a true story of your day.”

Annabelle shoots in a very natural, totally non-invasive style. She loves daylight and only uses flash for those late night dancefloor shots and although she works mainly with digital cameras, she’s also been known to bring Polaroid and film cameras with her to weddings too.

I really admire Annabelle’s approach to her work and her relaxed and friendly style certainly appeals. I know that when I think about wedding photography, I think about images that I’ll be able to look at for years after the big day is over and images that will always transport me back to a moment, however far away it might be. As the saying goes, photographs stay fresh when memories start to fade and I know all of us here at Love My Dress champion the importance of great wedding photography for exactly that reason.

There is one thing that to me truly sums up Annabelle Antas and Your Dear Image – when asked what inspires her work; Annabelle lists a myriad of things from the sky and great movies to her children and the natural world. And that makes me smile. It makes me smile because a real storyteller can find the tale that needs to be told in anything and everything. So just imagine what treasures could be found in your wedding day?
