True Bride – Figure Flattering Wedding Dresses For Brides & BridesMaids

And here we are again, flying through another week. I’m certainly not complaining that the January days are just whizzing by, especially as I’m off to the amazing Leeds Castle this weekend for Love My Dress. I absolutely can’t wait and am far too excited already. Luckily, today’s feature is the perfect distraction so if you’re hankering for the weekend already, then this is the piece to lose yourself in. We’re welcoming True Bride to Love My Dress and it’s such a pleasure to share details of their timeless, flattering and competitively priced wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses with you.

True Bride have been designing dresses for brides and maids from their Brighton base since 2005 and this small, but perfectly formed team is all about great wearable design, quality and attention to detail. Founded by designer Nicki Flynn with just a small collection of dresses, the brand has been unstoppable ever since. Nicki was joined by fellow designed Lydia Sayles and now True Bride designs are stocked in over 250 boutiques around the world.

“Our belief is that brides should feel nothing less than gorgeous on their wedding day,” explains Nicki. “So our aim is always to create wedding dresses that wow from every angle and bridesmaid dresses that fit and flatter. The ultimate goal is to produce a collection which captures the personality of every bride on her wedding day, not just dresses that look pretty in an advert.”

Bridesmaid dresses from True Bride are definitely something special. I love the signature pleats across the tummy because they look great on absolutely everyone. Bridesmaids of all shapes and sizes will feel fabulous in a True Bride dress.

“We’re always asking ‘can all body shapes and sizes wear this?’” says Lydia. “It doesn’t matter how gorgeous a design is, if it isn’t flattering across all sizes then bridesmaids simply won’t like it!”

Fear not however because True Bride bridesmaid dresses also come with a few edgy twists to make them that bit different. Essentially classic silhouettes are given illusion necklines, lace details or decadent beaded trims so that every design has as much of a fashion edge as possible. Most recently, True Bride has also introduced sequins, floral prints and crepe into their collection. These are definitely not plain or staid designs for bridesmaids!

True Bride bridal gowns have the same elements of time-honoured design mixed with contemporary flourishes.

“We try to be as forward thinking as possible,” says Lydia. “I’d say our signature style is ‘classic romanticism’. These gowns are ready to swish their way onto the dancefloor!”

At True Bride we make dresses with a combination of traditional and modern techniques,” says Nicki. “That blend of old and new makes our wedding dresses unique. The True Bride woman is a glamorous, girlie girl at heart. She’s fashion forward and loves a touch of style and more than a hint of drama.”

True Bride is always evolving and adding new designs as they take inspiration from everything from old photographs, brooches and even pieces of lace. Their latest collection, Brighton Belle, is dedicated to tea length dresses and was entirely inspired by a lifestyle illustration from a 1950s book! I love the retro edge to this range of dresses – the gowns with cute lace detailing such as Eva, Bunny, Billie and Florrie are some of my favourites. I also adore Monique for that amazing hi-low skirt. Bliss!

Affordability, wearability and styles you’ll fall for, all from one brand? Look no further than True Bride…
