Oooh, it’s good to be back with you today and if you’d like an excuse to spend a little time daydreaming about beautifully bespoke handmade wedding dresses then you’re going to love this feature. In fact, take this as permission to stop whatever you’re doing and just indulge your bride side for a while. Today, it’s a huge pleasure to introduce you to Shanna Melville, a wedding dress designer based in London who creates the most elegant, timeless wedding gowns that you ever did see.
Shanna Melville has been designing wedding dresses in the capital for a decade now and it’s fair to say that’s she’s renowned for her distinctive designs and impeccable couture styling. Every gown is a masterpiece – the designs are perfectly balanced and wonderfully made. I love the super chic silhouettes and elegant, effortlessly romantic styles that are the hallmark of a Shanna Melville wedding dress.
“All our wedding dresses are designed and hand made in London,” explains Shanna. “We use delicate silks, beautiful European fabrics and lace that is manufactured especially for us in Paris. My team of highly trained seamstresses set out to ensure that every detail is perfect, from the exquisite embroideries to the hand sewn embellishments and beading.”Our 2017 bridalwear collection is timeless and feminine with a modern touch. Whether you’re dreaming of a strapless sleek gown or a chic sleeveless style, we can create the perfect look for you. Our latest collection is enchanting and whimsical – the dresses come in soft hues of ivory, champagne and blush pinks so the overall look is light and ethereal.”
I adore this collection. Shanna Melville mixes bohemian styling cues with the most elegant lines and every gown manages to be beautiful, sophisticated and just a little bit playful. My goodness, there’s a lot to fall for.
I have to mention a few of my favourite designs from the 2017 Wildflowers collection – Allie with its deep V-back and lace cap sleeves atop a delicately embellished, flowing skirt is a definite hit. The heavy skirt of Buttercup is a bit of a showstopper and the cape-style top of Iris manages to be both revealing and modest all at the same time.
The simple lines of Jasmine are finished to perfection with the most delightful lace on the bodice and Poppy has to be one the most fabulous boho gowns I’ve seen in a long time. The First Lady glamour of Rosa is also worthy of a mention (that train – swoon!) as is Sweetpea, a gown that brings 1920s styling right up to date.
And it’s not just the designs themselves that make Shanna Melville a must-know name because when you work with Shanna, you’ll be spoiled from the word go:
“Choosing your dream wedding dress is one of the most important aspects in planning your big day,” says Shanna. “It’s also a significant event in your own life and this is why we promise you an exclusive and unique experience that you can treasure forever.”
