Well my goodness dear readers, we’re starting the week here on Love My Dress with a HUGE treat. It’s such a pleasure to be able to share the images from Charlotte Balbier’s new collection, Bohemian Blush, with you and also hear from Charlotte herself with our exclusive interview.
It’s fair to say that Bohemian Blush is simply a triumph. Wedding dresses by Charlotte Balbier are always so perfectly designed and so wonderfully made but this new collection is just exquisite. There really is so much to love from the heavenly colour palette to the embellishments, gorgeous skits, flattering bodices and overall Boho-meets-pretty vibe.
I’ve been super fortunate to be able to interview Charlotte on a number of occasions for Love My Dress and, of course, we were overjoyed to feature Charlotte’s beautiful wedding on these pages too. Charlotte’s romantic signature style is always such a delight and her new 2018 collection, Bohemian Blush, has taken dreamy delicacy to quite another level. Let’s find out more from this wonderful, award-winning designer.
Charlotte, welcome back to Love My Dress and a huge congratulations on Bohemian Blush, it’s an amazing collection! Tell us a little bit more about the inspiration behind your new designs.
Charlotte Balbier has always embraced the Boho look and we’ve gone all out with the 2018 collection, ‘Bohemian Blush’. Brides can choose from an array
of romantic and dreamy gowns such as our HALO gown delicately decorated with hand-cut dreamy chiffon detailing. The stunning JAYDE gown showcases some major bow action on our exclusive greenery print. The KLARA dress embraces sequin detailing on sheer skin accessorised with a sparkly gold belt. Only the finest quality fabrics such as luxury organzas, rich Mikados and silk tulles have been used.
What are the new, standout features in this collection? We know there’s a beautiful new colour palette so please tell us everything!
The 2018 colour pallet introduces ballet pink, sugared peach, blush pinks & peaches, pearled ivory and a pistachio green alongside the classic ever-popular ivory and champagne shades. Soft sugared peach is a personal favourite and signature colour of the Balbier brand and is featured heavily in the collection. I pay close attention to detail with every gown; each dress has a beautiful unique element to make it a standout dress, from the buttons down the back of the dress on style SASHA to the sequin silvery belt detail on the FOREVER gown or lace plunge neck ALORA gown. There will be 25 gowns in the Bohemian Blush collection; each and every one of them has a unique story to tell.
Do you think that brides are looking for gowns with unique elements now, whether that might be colour or more unusual fabrics?
Yes definitely, my 2017 collection ‘Untamed Love’ saw me launch my 1st floral gowns and they have proved that Charlotte Balbier brides dare to be different. The 2018 collection is pushing the bridal boundaries again with more floral fabrics, barely there sheer bodices, relaxed, easy and effortless Boho gowns and daring low backs. It’s a very exciting time in the bridal fashion world.
What type of bride do you imagine will fall for gowns from the Bohemian Blush collection?
Charlotte Balbier brides have always been and always will be their own kind of beautiful. They celebrate their individuality and style through their Charlotte Balbier gown and the new collection is, more than ever before, all about expressing your own personality. Whether your dream wedding is running through the woodland with your love, barefoot, wearing a flowing chiffon Boho gown or if you style is more feminine and pretty with a little bit of sass, this collection will appeal. By fusing my two favourite style crushes, Boho and pretty, I’ve created the most delicious twenty-five piece new collection, Bohemian Blush.
We know that you’re launching the full Bohemian Blush collection and the UK bridal event The White Gallery in May but when will these new gowns arrive in boutiques?
The collection will be available in boutiques from July onwards. We do have a waiting list for the eager brides who want to know were to get a dress from this collection first – simply email [email protected] to be added. We’ll put any brides wanting to get their hands on a Bohemian Blush gown in touch with their best local stockist. Also, watch this space for launch events nationwide – we can’t wait to celebrate this collection!
