Enzoani Elegance and a Chapel Length Veil for a Romantic Country Manor Wedding

LMD M A

Hello lovely ones – how is your week travelling along? If you’re in need of a distraction, please allow our lovely wedding blog pages to assist – starting with the stylish nuptials of Maria and Adam Westwell this morning.

Maria, who is director of her own sports injury clinic, and Adam, a chartered surveyor, married on the 22nd of July 2016 at St. Joseph’s Church, then held their celebrations at the beautifully rustic Beeston Manor in Hoghton, Lancashire. “We live in an 18th century stone cottage and love the relaxed country style, so we wanted our wedding décor to be simple and romantic, classy, rustic, but most of all ‘us’.”

Last week we introduced you to Lulu Browns bridal boutique in Lancashire, who are a part of our Little Book for Brides directory and where Maria found her utterly stunning veil. Has anyone else just fallen in love?

“As our ceremony was in a Catholic church, I opted for a chapel length veil from Lulu Browns for a traditional and respectful feel and one that complemented the train length on my dress.”

Maria wore the ‘Jodie’ design by Enzoani – a fitted design with a  sweetheart neckline, low back, lace bodice, and two-tiered tulle mermaid skirt and train.

“I loved the feminine and Spanish feel of the dress. The dress was striking enough with just lace, so didn’t need to be too busy with any sparkle or a belt. The back of the dress and the train was so dramatic I fell in love immediately. It really was breath taking.”

The wee little helpers sported chinos, shirt and shoes from Next with adorable dicky bows from Bush Boo Kids via Ebay. Too cute

Maria’s bridesmaids were pretty in pink ASOS gowns, ASOS shoes, and earrings which were gifted by the bride from notonthehighstreet.com. I simply adore these images taken of Maria and her maids outside in the rain – proof that it doesn’t matter one little bit if the skies open, it just makes for even better photos!

Maria’s gorgeous make-up with a red lip was by Megan Edmondson from HAIRtec and her long hair styled beautifully by Jodie A Smith and clipped to the side with a pretty hair accessory. She added the ‘Giddy’ heel by Kurt Geiger, earrings from Beaverbrooks and a spray of the aptly named ‘Love Story’ by Chloe.

“My best friend bought it me for an engagement present and had the bottle engraved. I felt it was fitting for our own love story.”

Wild & Wondrous Flowers created the stunning English country and rustic bouquets and floral displays using a range of seasonal blooms.

The wedding party arrived at the church for the ceremony in a groovy VW campervan from Posh Pampa Campa. Maria’s mum walked her beautiful daughter down the aisle to the traditional ‘Wedding March’ played by the church organist – and they had two very special members of their family involved in their big day.

“We committed our lives to one another in a stunning church with our family, friends and two fur babies Henry and Berty wearing dicky bows waiting for us outside the church.”

“I met Adam six years ago through a friend at the infamous bar ‘Fannys’ in Bolton. Adam took me for Thai food on our first date then tried to be romantic and make me watch ‘PS I Love You’  (he will go mad for me mentioning that!). He then sent me a dozen white roses that were delivered by a butler and that was it.”

Five years later he proposed to me on my birthday with Henry our springer spaniel wearing a birthday hat and waiting for me as I came home from work. Adam did help in the planning although he likes to pretend he didn’t. We both enjoyed every moment of it and would sit in bed at night together going over and over our guest list and songs for the band. Adam and his twin Danny even drove a 500 mile road trip to Southampton to get the perfect suit from Victor Valentine for Adam’s acquired taste. I had the most amazing, crazy and hilarious hen do in Marbella and Adam had a stag do to remember in Amsterdam.”

The couple’s wedding rings were handmade by Michael, an independent jeweller in Bolton.

“Michael is aged 80 and was recommended by a friend. He made the ring to slot under my sapphire and diamond engagement ring and perfectly complement it. Adam went for a Tungsten band with it being one of the strongest metals and he also liked how the shade of the metal was quite different. Adam had our initials and wedding date engraved on the inside.”

“We met Kerry of Kerry Woods Photography at a wedding fair at Beeson Manor and immediately loved her style. Kerry is so relaxed and makes you feel at ease. We gave her an idea of what we would like beforehand but didn’t need to think about it again. None of our photos were staged and she captured the true feelings and emotion from our wedding. My sister-in-law loved her so much she has already booked Kerry for her own wedding next year!”

“My mum’s partner Graeme brewed the gins for the favours – raspberry for girls, and blueberry for boys. I bought the bottles from Ebay and had personalised stickers made via an Ebay shop.”

Kerry Armstrong from The Jam Jar in Manchester was the force behind the couple’s tantalisingly tempting cakes.

“Our main cutting cake was carrot cake and to die for. We then had a selection of cupcakes, brownies, and various other cakes as we didn’t want the typical boring wedding cake that never gets enjoyed or eaten. We had a variety of flavours including red velvet, mars chocolate, raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake.”

Words of Wedded Wisdom

“I would say to embrace every moment of planning and enjoy it. It will all soon be over and the planning is just as important as the big day. As long as you are organised in noting down everything that is essential, and cost wise affordable, then if you are within budget you can have any extra desirable requests. Involve your friends and family, they will love it and it makes it more fun for you.”

Have as many hen do’s as possible – you might as well! If something isn’t working out as planned, say to yourself, do you really need it? The day will be perfect regardless.”

Thank you so much to Kerry for capturing the photogenic couple and all their happy moments.

And I do like this advice about having loads of hen do’s – brilliant idea! I’ve so loved sharing your big day Maria and Adam and what a lovely thing to include your beautiful dogs in the celebrations. Are you planning to have your beloved pooches at your upcoming nuptials? Take a look here at more delightful tales featuring much-loved and furry family members who have joined in the celebrations.

To finish, a little movie by John from Perfect Wedding Videos to set the scene.
