Happy lunch time loves – the country seems to be divided by weather today – the south is basking in a heatwave whilst up here in the North, we’ve a little cloud cover cooling things down a bit. I wish the sunshine would come back – I miss it!
Wherever you are, many of you will be enjoying a lunch break now and perhaps catching up with Love My Dress over some food. “For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Gemma from The Wedding of my Dreams an online shop selling a large collection of wedding decorations. I work alongside my Mum Karen and together we also run Passion for Flowers, our wedding florist. Laid Back Elegance
Our laid back elegance look is all about crisp silver and glass table decorations with flowers in silver coach lanterns along long wooden trestle tables a simple yet timeless look for your tables. Add elegant candle light with candle sticks and tea light holders. A cream runner immediately lightens a wooden table and creates a more elegant feel.
Of course if you are having round tables you could adapt this look and have one lantern in the centre of the table with flowers inside and a mix of tea lights around the base. Finishing touches including silver place card holders and calligraphy name cards add to the laid back yet elegant style.
Crystal Romance
Our ‘crystal romance‘ style is perfect for a spring or summer wedding, bright florals in pinks and corals set in a mix of crystal and pressed glass vases along the table. For round tables opt for a grouping of vases in the centre of the table, it’s nice if you choose different heights for a bit of variation.
Place settings can be a simple bud vase name holder, perfect for adding a floral touch for your place settings and they can be gifted as favours too.
Enchanted Garden
“Beautiful for a spring or summer wedding, bright florals in pinks and corals but this time adding the ever popular tree stumps and log slices to your tables. Perfect if you have chosen a barn style wedding venue. We’ve used our tiny glass vases with gold rims as vases which really do look stunning when grouped on the tree slices and give a more elegant look than jam jars or bottles. A most lovely enchanted garden inspired style.”
Classic Neutrals with a hint of Gold
We’ve seen a rise in both neutral and gold colour palettes recently so why not mix a bit of the two. Keep neutral tones with your choice of table runner and flowers but add in a hint of gold with your vases, urns and bottles for your centrepieces. We think it gives a really sophisticated look, an excellent choice for any style of venue.
Adding in some fun extras will get guests talking and can be a way to set your wedding apart from others you might have been to recently or seen online.
A welcome table is lovely to greet your guests and make your wedding venue feel your own, choose a table guests will see immediately as they arrive and add flowers that tie into the rest of your décor and a personal note to your guests makes them feel they’ve arrived at your wedding.
Confetti
Other fun ideas include setting out an entire confetti bar, encouraging guests to select which colour confetti they want to throw and it’s a great excuse to create a lovely display at your ceremony.
Alternative Guest Books
“Or how about getting creative with your guest book, go for something alternative to a traditional guest book this can be a fun talking point, a couple of our favourites include asking guests to sign a Jenga piece or piece of a jigsaw puzzle.”
