Henry London began when two designers were exploring London’s vintage districts, searching for inspiration for their own designs. The pair stumbled upon a 1960s vintage timepiece at the famous Portobello Road Market and, appropriately, their minds began to tick.
This beautifully styled, classic Swiss watch had the words ‘Henry, August 1965’ engraved on the case back and despite the passing of the years, the watch was as superb as ever.
Taking this as their inspiration, the designers began creating the Henry London collection and now, the various Henry London designs are inspired by and named after famous areas of London. The vintage elements are in honour of that timepiece found in Portobello Road and the colourful streets of London mean that the collection is full of vibrant shades.
So, what’s in the Henry London range? Well, if you’re a fan of the minimalistic, classic style then you absolutely need to take a look at the rose gold Richmond watches or the black and white Edgware range. I’ve got quite a soft spot for the slightly eccentric styling of the berry purple Hampstead collection and the botanical greens of Chiswick. If you’re a bit of a fashionista, then the teal blue Stratford range or the cool pebble grey Finchley collection might be more your style.
And there’re more because, again inspired by their marketplace find, Henry London offer unique engraving so these watches really are a perfect sentimental gift. This little detail, this finishing touch, just takes your chosen watch from ‘gorgeous gift ‘to ‘meaningful memento’, one that will be treasured for years to come.
