Most Curious Wedding Fair 2018 Dates Are Here!

It’s that time again, the biggest independent style-focused wedding show in the UK, Most Curious, is launching its 2018 SHOW dates!

This year the show is even bigger, has a new website, the core team has doubled, the show is open for longer and will feature new exciting additions to be revealed over the next few months! Taking place from Friday 2nd March to Sunday 4th March at The Old Truman Brewery on the coolest street in London, Brick Lane, and with a Norwich date being locked down as we speak, the shows bring together a total of over 200 of the coolest UK wedding suppliers in an explosion of creativity this Spring.

With inspirational displays, catwalk shows and fresh ideas you are going to fall in love with, this is the wedding show that barely feels like a wedding show, more like a big ol’ celebration of love and the day where you lock it down! Launched today exclusively with Love My Dress, with a brand spanking new set of campaign images shot by Esther Bellepoque, which were created to not only capture the spirit of Most Curious and its audience, but to also predict what’s to come in the world of weddings over the next year or two.

Attended by rock stars, actors, designers, creative types, and all the best wedding bloggers, of course, Most Curious is dubbed the wedding show for the style-savvy couple. Hotly tipped as the place to see the most innovative and directional ideas for wedding fashion, design, styling and vibes to emerge, it has now become an exciting and buzzy destination for many brands to launch new products and collections straight to the couples who appreciate quality, creativity and craftsmanship.

Helping them to nail the day they want, whether that is a little elopement or the party of the century, by chatting about your likes and loves, not pouncing on you with a sales pitch.

This year our shoot channels a modern Haight Ashbury vibe, a 2018 take on hippy chic, a little bit of Peace, Love and Understanding, with patterned 70s style dresses from new brand Radish, soft, plain linen shapes from Fool Dost, slip dress layering from Velvet Johnstone, and bridal friendly psychedelic patterns from Margaux Tardits from The Mews Bridal. And, of course, we wouldn’t be a fashion led show if we didn’t style our 2018 bride in sheer and polka dot ankle socks or daisy bead embellished knee highs by Lirika Matoshi, with suede powder blue block heels would we?

Our bride also wears glasses some of the time and holds symmetrical plastic bags filled with water and hydrangeas and roses in a Gucci meets Wes Anderson moment. We’re calling it, ‘flowers in water in plastic bags’ – it will be a thing!

Alongside the hippy leanings, the overall style concept was actually quite slick and architectural, seen in the simple forms of Fiona Sheward’s dress and Ritual Union’s graphic choker-ed gown, slicked hair by Zara at Portraits Bridal and pared back sheeny make up by Samantha Falcone.

It was a look first talked about for the flowers, guided by floral force Hazel Gardiner Design. We didn’t want to replay the trend for huge, wild over flowing bouquets, but stripped it away to clean shaped, single colour or colour block blooms, for more of a stylised feel, placing the flowers in perspex boxes like little art forms, or pinning single stems in pockets and around her head.

Heck, even in an actual peace sign to really bring it back full circle to the hippy motif. A scandi style white oiled, white oak table and chair from De La Espada also brought a simple but refined feel to the proceedings. Isobel Bakes’s incredible cake was also commissioned to be in one white block, and sculptural in feel, with slick flower power magic, also seen in the white daisies on AM Faulkner’s veil and Clara Francis’s beaded head piece.

These ideas will transfer into our show styling for 2018, something Most Curious has become known for and we’re ready to raise the bar after our PINKTOPIA explosion of 2017. More to be revealed soon on our show theme and who’s on board with us make the magic happen.

Just for a change of gears, something else we want to share with you through the nurturing and supportive platform Annabel has created through Love My Dress is the story behind why, for 2018, we are donating 10% of our advance ticket sales for London to 4Louis, a charity that provides memory boxes free of charge to bereaved parents who suffer a stillbirth or neonatal death. This years’ shows are dedicated to Xian Hui Hale, our founder Becky’s little baby girl. Becky was pregnant with Xian Hui during the 2017 events but in April, at 24 weeks, Xian Hui devastatingly died before she was born. So Most Curious 2018 will run in her honour, with the team of working mumma’s pouring as much love and light into them as they can for their lost little one.
