Decadent Decay and Beautiful Blooms

It’s always an absolute pleasure to be able to share the work of  a collective of talented wedding industry creatives, and especially when they are as good as the individuals behind these images.

This collection of photographs came about following a collaboration between image maker Shelley Richmond of Kindred Photography, florist extraordinaire and Internet queen Swallows & Damsons, and one of our very favourite independent dress designers Kate Beaumont, who you can learn more about by clicking on the links in the box below. We love the texture in these images, the beautiful blooms and delicate bridal wear and that gorgeous decadent decay of a background. Pinterest worthy images if ever there were any.

“This collaborative shoot came about through the mutual love of a decaying wall in an old abandoned school in Sheffield (yes really!). The crumbling plaster and peeling paint has been something that we longed to work against for quite a while.”

“The light in the space is just magical and we took the colours of the faded architecture as the single starting point for the styling, beginning with the flowers, Anna from Swallows and Damsons chose spring florals and foliage to complement the space and work with the gentle shades of silk and lace used in Kate’s dresses.”“Jenn and her team styled our beautiful model Ivy with a soft braided crown and fresh make up, while Natash brought Kates delicate pieces together with some floral inspired high street designs, with fresh but rich colours to work with Annas flowers.”

“The vision for the shoot was to combine Kate’s high end bespoke bridal gowns and separates with more edgy high street collections for a fashion focused wedding look, perfect for a urban wedding in the spring and also to explore how bridal pieces can be work after your wedding.”
