Rembo Styling – Sophisticated Bohemian Bridal Style for 2018

Well oh my goodness, here we are in yet another week but before we all have a moment of mild panic given that we’re almost at November (just HOW did that happen?), let’s sit back and enjoy today because I’ve got a rather gorgeous treat for you right here. Oh yes indeed – it’s time to take a look at the heavenly 2018 collection from Rembo Styling.

Let’s start though with a little introduction to Rembo Styling (I know, I’m making you wait for the dresses and that’s awful but hopefully you’ll forgive me). One of the things that I love about this label is the fact that it’s a family business and the current head of Rembo Styling is Chiara De Vlieger who’s the 4th generation of the family to guide the label.

Rembo Styling also designs in a unique and brilliantly collaborative way – the team of five designers is each given a brief and then goes away to design their own pieces.

Now to me, this is just fabulous – the collections have an overall feel and style but there’s also true individuality in the gowns and for that reason, those in the know are commenting that the 2018 collection is the best ever from Rembo Styling. And do you know what? I think they’re right. Here’s Chiara herself to tell us more:

“As always our gowns are beautiful, romantic and refined; they’re very comfortable and yet look sexy. We don’t go for the typical mermaid look but the loose ‘boho chic’ style, which is a wonderful balance between nonchalant and sophisticated. Details such as lace with geometric motifs and the combination of these heavier laces with crepe, long sleeves and of course our trademark beautiful deep backs.  Integrate this with our knitwear and you have the perfect look.”

And let’s just talk about that knitwear for a moment because I can’t explain how happy it makes me to see something so different and so fabulous in a mainline bridal collection. Rembo Styling takes their inspiration from couture and ready-to-wear collections and they pick out the commercial trends that we all love and somehow, with a little sprinkling of magic, turn these details into bridal collections. The knitwear additions were maybe a bit of a gamble but do you know what? It’s paid off in some style.

So, let’s focus on the gowns themselves now shall we? You’ll notice right across the collection that the fabrics and embellishments are just heaven. My obsession with tulle is totally pandered to and just check out those on-trend zips:

“All dresses are made in superior fabrics such as luxurious, thick crepe, chiffon or tulle and are decorated with modern, sheer lace. Details such as a stylish gold-colored zippers or buttons complete the look. At first sight the designs are very simple, but it is the combination that makes the difference: the right lace with the right materials and the right finishing. We listen to the needs of the bridal shops and the wishes of contemporary brides; they want a beautiful, simple dress which is finished with exquisite detail.”

Exquisite detail is absolutely the right description. I have to admit that I’ve got quite the crush on Otilia, a gorgeously simple gown with a deep V-neck surrounded by super pretty ruffles. Grace a toi and Graal are iconic boho designs with beautiful back detailing and the deep lace hem on Honey Bear brings a fantastic touch to the skirt of this design.

Delicate lace sleeves feature too – just take a look at Madalena and Melodia for the prettiest examples. Lovers of bridal separates won’t be disappointed either and Amanda, with that bold geometric lace bodice teamed with a heavy crepe skirt is just all kinds of fabulous.

I am also utterly in love with the short dresses in the collection. Beatle (again, the geometric lace – I swoon), Pearl Jam with the lace bands at the waist and across the skirt plus the uber feminine White Stripe just makes me smile. It’s just so great to see shorter, alternative dresses given as much prominence in a collection as longer gowns. Rembo Styling really does embrace every kind of bride and this collection is quite the triumph.

Oh yes Rembo Styling, you’ve given us a lot to love.
