Win Your Wedding Dress From Naomi Neoh Worth £2500

If ever a feature deserved trumpets, klaxons and a massive welcoming fanfare, it’s this one! Lovely readers, we are starting the week in style and bringing you this amazing competition.

Yes, you can win your wedding dress, worth £2500, from the incomparable Naomi Neoh. Now I’ve spoken before about my love for Naomi Neoh – for the gowns themselves and for Naomi as a designer. The new Celestial collection, inspired by the wilderness of the heavens and the natural beauty of the sky, is just such a delight. And, if you’re thinking that I sound a bit smitten, then you’re absolutely spot on because I really am!

If you’re new to the Naomi Neoh label, let me introduce you to these elegant and modern bridal gowns in luxurious fabrics. The collections offer a wide range of styles including full skirted dresses, slimmer flowing styles and more recently a beautiful selection of separates; made up of delicate cami tops and skirts which layer over a corseted crepe under-dress. All of the dresses incorporate hidden lightweight corsetry, which gives you a smooth silhouette and acts like a bra so you don’t need to worry about what to wear under your dress.

Luna frontBefore I tell you all about the fantastic competition, let’s hear a little bit more from Naomi herself about her designs and her inspiration:

“Sewing had always been a passion of mine from a young age I was using a sewing machine when I was about 5 years old. I am obsessed with fabric – I collect random pieces the way other people collect shoes.  I have a whole collection of books about historical clothing I love looking back to see how people made things in the past.”

“I find inspiration in everything, architecture, nature, TV, people – I’m constantly collecting bits of fabric, trims, photographs, flowers etc. everywhere I go! I collect everything together and take inspiration from colours, textures, and shapes of things and then my ideas flow from there. I never really overly think when I’m designing a new collection and don’t force anything, I can start with a small idea, sample of fabric or even a piece of trim and then go from there.”

“Real brides are particularly helpful in creating a design – I love working with brides in my showroom, draping and pinning a beautiful gown on them to express their own vision of a wedding dress.”

“My designs are usually recognised for their soft flowing silk chiffon skirts and delicate lace jackets. My signature is the blush pink silk habotai (or parachute silk) we use in our dresses.  I had it dyed to match my first pair of pointe ballet shoes (it took about 8 batches to get the colour right!).  It’s a lovely soft glowing colour – which looks very pink on the hanger but lifts the complexion and gives your skin a beautiful glow when you put it on.

Since then I have added many soft bridal tones – I’m super excited about the Skye dress in pale dusty blue in this year’s 2018 collection.”

“I want everyone whatever size to be able to wear my dresses and feel amazing. I design them from scratch thinking about what I want to create on the outside then working backwards to think about the structure that dress will need on the inside and how it will feel to wear.”

“Confidence and comfort makes brides beautiful – which is why I love a little bit of corsetry. Lots of our brides loved the support of corsetry but wanted something a bit more comfy, so for 2018 we introduced an elastic corset which still gives support but a more natural body shape and more comfort.”

“I’m a fabric fanatic – I just cannot use fabrics, which I do not love the feel of, they must be soft and luxurious.  I love French lace but there are some incredible embroideries and Levers laces being produced in China now.  We’re always looking for new things.”

“I design my dresses with both the inside and outside in mind so it helps to create beautiful bridal gowns that are wearable for women of all different body types. The internal corsetry provides that hidden support and creates a smooth silhouette, which makes the bride look and feel confident on her big day. I want brides wearing my dresses to feel as amazing as they look in the dress so I always bear that in mind – no one wants to feel like the dress is wearing them!”
