And here I am again! How’s November started for you so far? Can I own up to the fact that I am now a little excited that Christmas is next month? Anyway, whatever you’re up today, I urge you to take some time out for this feature because I have another absolutely new gorgeous collection to share. Dear readers, let me introduce you to the 2018 collection from Marylise.

Before we jump right into swooning over these gorgeous dresses, let’s take a moment to say a proper hello to Marylise. This fabulous, fresh label comes from the same family company that’s the driving force behind the brilliant Rembo Styling who we featured just recently. As with the Rembo gowns, Marylise dresses are individually produced using traditional methods with huge amounts of care and attention by super skilled seamstresses so your wedding dress will be absolutely perfect.

What’s also spot-on perfect in my opinion is the way that Marylise approaches design. Instead of all the designs coming from one person, Marylise has a brilliantly creative group of celebrated guest designers working alongside their own sparkling young team. I just love this collaborative approach because it brings such a range of styles to the collection. The Junior CEO of Marylise, Chiara De Vlieger, explains that this process makes sure that there’s a ‘fresh breeze within the company’ and that’s just great for brides.

So, with those introductions complete, it’s time to look at the gowns themselves. Here’s Chiara to tell us a little more:

“We describe the Marylise 2018 collection as ‘easy chic’ dresses. These gowns are elegant and classy for the bride who wants a relaxed look on her wedding day but doesn’t want to go for a ‘boho’ dress. The focus of the Marylise 2018 collection is on feminine dresses but brides can also find elegant tuxedo trousers within the collection which they can combine with a lace blouse.”

“Many of the dresses have butterfly or long sleeves and deep lace backs and they’re smooth and fluid thanks to the materials used. All of the dresses are made from the most superior fabrics such as luxurious thick crepe, chiffon or tulle and are decorated with modern, sheer lace.”

This modern look has absolutely won me over. I love that Marylise have stepped away slightly from their previous style which was lightly formal glamour with taffeta and stiff, bulky skirts. The new collection has a much softer look that’s just so romantic. Yes, there’s still volume in the skirts but the dresses are light and supple and so easy to wear.

I have to admit that I am absolutely smitten with the beautiful use of lace in this collection. From the all-over lace in Fidele, the lace long sleeved bodice of Gisele to the detailing on Celebration and Bella Vita, it’s perfection. The variety of patterns and weights really is heaven.

I am also a huge fan of gowns with deep V-necks so there’s an awful lot for me to get excited about in this collection. My personal favourites have to be Affection with that super pretty skirt and the daring lines of Romance. I also love the elegant simplicity of Wonderful, which certainly lives up to its name.

And, if you’re looking for something different, this is the collection for you. The lace blouse, heavy skirt combination of Teresa is just sublime and the pleated skirt of Rosa (check out those stripes!) really is amazing. For something incredibly different, I have one word for you – trousers. Infinity has to be seen to be believed.

This collection is new, daring and altogether brilliant. Well played Marylise, well played.
