My name is Kate Halfpenny and I design beautiful bridalwear for real women. After graduating from Central St Martin’s I enjoyed a successful career as a costume designer and celebrity stylist.
Halfpenny London was founded in 2005 and I’m thrilled to say it has become one of the UK’s leading luxury bridalwear brands. Weaving Brit cool with a luxe sensibility, I aim to create innovative, chic dresses and separates for the modern woman.
My beautiful creations transcend the world of bridal and have become coveted by the fashion elite with impeccable red carpet style. I bring creativity and versatility to my collections, knowing that carefully crafted and interchangeable elements will work for every woman.

I’m obsessed with textiles and that is definitely reflected in my collections. Inspiration comes from all over. From architecture to interiors, fashion to fabrics, my brides and strangers I see in the street. The dresses evolve and I’m not dictated to by trends.
– The Honeysuckle Cape –
I like to be instinctual and that’s why my collection is always so diverse. There really is something for every bride at Halfpenny London. From relaxed, effortlessly cool separates to slinky silhouettes or full skirts and exquisitely detailed corsets. Be the bride you want to be and never compromise or allow yourself to be swayed by other opinions or trends. When you find the right dress, you’ll know. It’s magical!
The Halfpenny London boutique is in the heart of Bloomsbury, on a pedestrianised cobbled walk. It’s close to St. Pancras and Kings Cross and we’re just a heartbeat from central London. It really is a wonderful location: a Dickensian cobbled walk with bow fronted charming shops. We were also lucky enough to get the building opposite this year so we now have numbers 9 & 10.
– The Dita Skit and Bella Lace Top –
One is our Design Studio and Atelier where we make a lot of the dresses and the other space, No. 10 Woburn Walk, is the boutique and fitting rooms. It’s like stepping into someone’s beautiful front room rather than a stuffy boutique.
The boutique is full to the brim with the most delicious lace, softest tulle, stunning embroidery and sumptuous silks for brides-to-be to try on. Planning a wedding is such a momentous time in a couple’s life and I’m forever grateful to play a small part in their special day.

The best part of my job is working with our epic brides to create the most wonderful, perfect dress she’ll ever wear, making her dreams come true, creating a dress that she could have only ever have imagined.
It’s such a gorgeous job to have: to make people so happy and there’s nothing better than seeing them bursting with happiness in their wedding pictures.
I truly have the best job in the world.
