I’ve got the HUGE pleasure of introducing you to the Morning Mist Bridal collection from KATYA KATYA BRIDAL and giving you the details of an altogether amazing competition that gives you a chance of winning £1000 towards a made to order gown from the collection. I’ve written before about my soft spot for KATYA KATYA BRIDAL but if you’re new to Love My Dress (and a big hello from me if you are!) then let me explain why I love this designer so much. Firstly, the softness of the designs just appeals to me in ways I can’t explain. I love the lace, the shapes, the laidback beauty and the extraordinary flexibility of the gowns – the look of each dress can change so easily and so perfectly that whatever your style, KATYA KATYA BRIDAL will be sure to tick your bridal style boxes. Finally, these dresses are flattering, impeccably made and just so beautiful. Yep, I’m in love.

I’m also head over heels with this collection. Morning Mist takes the signature KATYA KATYA BRIDAL look to the next level and I think I might have fallen in love with the label even more. Let’s hear more from Katya herself:

What are the standout features of the collection in terms of fabrics, styles and embellishments?

“This collection is made up of beautiful French and Italian laces, hand embroidery and 100% silk skirts made to flatter your silhouette, creating the upmost comfort through the structure-less nature of our gowns.”

“Unique to KATYA KATYA, we offer you the chance to alternate slips, creating a different colour way for your big day so you can go from ceremony to reception with two completely different looks in one gown. This collection has introduced deeper tones throughout with slips accentuating our lace more than ever before so you’ll find colours such as blue/grey, silver, pink, nude and mocha in our range.”

What was the inspiration for the collection?

“I have a great affinity for vintage styles and exclusively feminine cuts and this always resonates through my work however for this collection, I’ve found great inspiration in the diversity of the contemporary world and that’s ensured a wholly enduring aesthetic.”

“I’m often influenced by women’s roles in shaping society and I design for a woman who’s charming, mysterious and graceful but also vulnerable and sensitive. She attracts by her overwhelming power, freedom and unpredictable being.”

Can you tell us more about how you go about designing a brand new collection?

“All collections usually start with pictures… any picture that my eye stops at. It’s very interesting to me how, from one single picture, a whole mood board can grow and from that, a whole new collection. The Morning Mist collection started from a picture of a girl running in a field. We can only see her back but we can almost feel the warm sun touching her skin and hear her happy laughter.”

“A lot of my inspiration also comes from what is around me – the elements, wilderness, wild flowers and the contrast of colours that this all encompasses. The collection remains rooted in the beauty of nature and the feeling of pure happiness and freedom which comes from this.”

Do you have a favourite design from the collection?

“It changes depending on who is wearing the gowns! Sometimes you’ll see a bride wearing a gown and then, from that moment, this gown is your new favourite because she looked so incredibly beautiful in it.”

Did you have a specific bride in mind when you were designing these gowns?

“The KATYA KATYA BRIDAL label does have a strong modern bohemian aesthetic so we tend to attract brides looking for a less conventional style that will still make them look amazing on their wedding day.”

What advice would you like to give to brides who are looking for their perfect wedding dress?

“Every bride has a different journey when choosing a dress so try not to compare your journey to someone else’s. If you fall in love with a dress on your first appointment, that’s OK because that’s your journey. For some brides, it can take longer and that’s just fine too. Always go with your instinct.”
