I’m going to come right out and say it now; Bethany Howarth is just a lovely person. She’s lucky enough to photograph weddings all about the UK and throughout Europe in the summer months before travelling over to New Zealand to photograph summer weddings in the Southern Hemisphere in her signature style.

“I have a very relaxed and laid back approach. My style is a mixture of both documentary wedding photography and natural portraits. I focus heavily on capturing those happy, natural moments and genuine, raw emotions. I also love capturing a handful of beautiful, relaxed portraits (nothing too posed or cheesy) and all of the small details that you probably put a lot of time into choosing. I love dramatic light and gorgeous locations!”

“I have always been passionate about photography. I can remember carrying a little film camera around as a child and snapping photos of my menagerie of animals. I actually started my career as a veterinarian, photographing as many things as I could* in the weekends and evenings (*mostly photos of my cat and dog).”

Eventually, my passion for photography took over so I set up my own photography business and now my sole focus is wedding photography. I am so happy to be doing a job that I genuinely love, every single day.

Beth’s feelings for her photography and for weddings in general are pretty clear to see. I’ll always cheer and applaud for people who pour their heart and soul into what they do and Beth most definitely falls into this category. “If you asked me what my favourite part of a wedding day is, I’d find it tough to answer. I like different parts of the day for different reasons. I love bridal preparations – the mixture of anticipation, excitement, love (and sometimes nervousness) that fills the room is an amazing thing to be a part of and to witness.”

“I also love portraits – it’s a great time for the couple to just catch their breath and steal a few moments alone together, away from the chaos of their wedding day. It’s also a lot of fun! Lastly, I love the dance floor. It’s often hilarious and just so happy. Sometimes* I might even join in and break out my dance moves (*most of the time).”
