Lunch Time Wedding Film ~ Bridge and Matt and Their Beautiful Family North London Wedding

What an absolutely beautiful day it is today outside! I so hope the sun is gracing you with it's divine presence and filling your space with pretty light like it is in my office today.

We have a new addition to our Film Gallery this lunch time, a rather beautiful new wedding film from Frances Maddell of reellovefilms (who we adore, if you didn't know that already).  Someone once said to me, that the sign of a great wedding film is one that leaves you feeling you somehow know the couple by the end.  It's such a privilege isn't it to have such a beautifully created and crafted peek in to the lives of two strangers, on one of the most beautiful days of their lives?

I'm thrilled that we will be featuring the real wedding photographs from this couple, Bridge and Matt's wedding very soon, but for today, I hope this lovely little film uplifts and makes you smile this Thursday lunch time. Look at the way she kisses him after the ceremony, melts my heart how in love this couple are...

"Bridge and Matt live in New York and came back to London (Matt’s home town) to get married. They chose North London's Burgh House for the ceremony, which is a very elegant and homely venue, surrounded by cobbled streets and pretty houses.  Bridge’s Mum conducted the ceremony which combined their wedding and a welcome for their daughter Mae. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the building! (well, not mine anyway!). The wedding party then travelled by Route Master to St Chad’s Place, Kings Cross, which is an amazing, cool venue, tucked away from the main streets. Bridge had styled the place perfectly and it looked gorgeous.

Bridge looked amazing too, and we all had severe shoe envy that day. Her green Katherine Amberleigh shoes were stunners! She looked totally beautiful and Elbie Van Eeden did her make-up to perfection. The bridesmaids weren’t bad either - there are some good genes in that family!

The biggest memory from this day is just how much love we felt in the room…proper, tear jerking, chin trembling love and emotion. Thank you so much for having us along for the day."

Lunch Time Wedding Film ~ Claire and Alex At Hoghton Tower, Lancashire

You know, I hear it time and time again, when I talk to newlyweds about if there is anything they'd do differently or maybe regretted not doing at their wedding - 'having it filmed so that we could enjoy it in later life'. It's a common theme of feedback and one I really want to highlight through Love My Dress.  I know, I know, on initial consideration, you might see it as 'just another wedding expense', but pause for a moment to consider the value of a beautifully crafted film that will serve as a wonderful memory for years, and years to come.

The film I'm sharing today allows us a privileged insight into the wedding day of Claire and Alex and was sent in by Aaron Jones of Reel Weddings. Aaron shared a little with me about this couple and their touching wedding day...

"Claire and Alex took inspiration from their own transatlantic romance to create a New York inspired wedding day. From the food (mini corn dogs and burgers), to the transport (yep, that yellow cab), their day was complimented by a gorgeous vintage wedding dress worn by Claire.

They chose the awesome Hoghton Tower for their wedding venue and despite the buckets of rain we encountered on the day, fun was continually had by all - although there was the odd moment where we thought Claire would do a Mary Poppins on us with the heavy gusts of wind!

We feel that these guys are super-cute together and you can’t help but smile when you see them interacting. Hopefully you agree!"

Style Me Vintage: Weddings ~ A Film For A Book Launch

This morning I blogged about my official book launch party for Style Me Vintage: Weddings that took place last Wednesday evening at Corbet Place in Shoreditch, London.

This lunch time, I'd like to share a beautiful little film that was created on the evening by Allora Visuals.

Allora Visuals are a creative team I've been so eager to work with for a while now, and so it made perfect sense for me to approach them to see if they would consider filming the book launch.  As it turns out, the Allora Visuals are utterly lovely! Niki put me completely at ease - I didn't for a minute have time to prepare for any filming of me talking or anything, but the way Niki guided me through everything, it simply felt like having an excited conversation with a friend!

I don't think this little lunch time movie needs much introduction - it pretty much explains itself and I hope you enjoy...

John Lewis Wedding Insurance

While it may not seem like the most glamorous of topics, Annabel and I hope wedding insurance is something you will dedicate some serious thought to in the run up to your big day.

Whether you're planning a large, lavish event or a modest, DIY affair, there will always be significant sums of money involved in organising a wedding. From deposits to dresses, the financial outlay is certainly not something to be taken lightly. Protecting your investment should probably be a priority, but it's not always something that features highly in the bridal 'to do' list.

There's an awful lot you can control about your wedding day. Pressure from the in-laws aside, it's up to you who makes the guest list. You get to pick a venue, the date and time of your celebration and your suppliers. You can organise it all with military precision, correlating spread sheets and delegating like a pro, but there are things even the most efficient bride can't avoid.

John Lewis {who happen to be the provider I went with when insuring my own nuptials last year} have teamed up with The Mr & Mrs Design Studio to create a short animation that illustrates the various scenarios for which you might need wedding insurance.

Considering the things that could go wrong on your wedding day is a sobering task, but arguably an important one if you're going to sufficiently prepare for every eventuality. Perhaps it's something you should add to that wedding spreadsheet after all.
