One of the best things we’ve noticed about weddings of the past few years are the grooms as we’ve been happily admiring the wide range of outfits that the guys are now wearing on their wedding day. Gone are the endless images of faintly embarrassed looking grooms in pastel cravats and identikit suits (thank God!). Instead, we’re smitten with the tweed, handmade suits and all the accessories that style savvy grooms are now choosing. We all know that when it comes to weddings, personality and individuality rule and we love it when a groom is confident enough to make his own personal style statement.
On that note, we’re delighted today to introduce you to Al’s Musique Boutique, a one-stop shop for the creative groom, the urban dandy and the utterly dapper chap.

As a vintage style enthusiast himself, Al wanted to open a boutique that he would be happy to shop in himself – somewhere that would stock a huge range of brilliant products and be a welcoming, friendly place to visit.
Describing his own style as ‘eclectic Gentleman with a hint of scallywag’ (we love!), Al is passionate about ensuring that the vintage items he sells are in the best condition, ensuring that pieces are perfectly cleaned and precisely repaired when needed.
Al also offers tailoring and alterations, services that are so valuable if you’ve found a vintage gem that doesn’t quite fit or if you’ve been passed an heirloom that just needs a few adjustments to give it the new lease of life it deserves.
And, it is that care and attention that I can’t help but adore. Can you just imagine how great your groom will look and feel wearing something that is so totally and utterly ‘him’? If Al can’t find what you’re looking for, he’ll have it made for you and all of the tailoring and bespoke work is undertaken in the UK. Happily however, items can be shipped anywhere in the world so wherever you are, if you’re looking for a big dose of good old-fashioned style, Al can help.
We’ve really fallen for so many of Al’s brilliant products. Tweed suits with leather cuffs, caps and bowler hats; tweed bowties, vintage accessories and heirloom cufflinks are all on our wish lists for grooms everywhere. Also, the shirts and suits are just brilliant – detachable collars are possibly our new favourite things.
Al is based in Newcastle but ships globally. Prices start at £10 for shirts, ties & pins, cravats and bows, £20 for vintage waistcoats and £45 for bowlers and top hats. Tailored suits start at £450 whilst a vintage three piece can be anything from £65 upwards.
We challenge you to find your own unique treasure Al’s Musique Boutique.
Al is absolutely one of a kind and his vintage knowledge, ability to source that perfect item and his total commitment to ensuring that the chaps look downright delightful truly sets him apart. Long live style, long live vintage and long live this Gentlemen’s Emporium. Al, we salute you.
