Launcells Barton is a family-owned, exclusive use Cornwall wedding venue set within a 220 acre rolling countryside estate near Bude.
Owners Matthew and Lara, have successfully fused old world charm and contemporary design to create a sophisticated wedding venue with timeless appeal. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you’ll be welcomed like one of the family.
Along with boutique accommodation in our historic country manor house, we can provide the perfect setting for both your wedding ceremony and reception, with the capacity to seat up to 200 guests.

From the moment we arrived on our initial visit we knew that Launcells Barton was the perfect place for us to celebrate our wedding with all our friends and family. The venue itself is so unbelievably beautiful, the house, the barns, the grounds, we fell in love with the place. Lara and Matt were so welcoming and excited about helping us achieve our wedding dreams! They provided lots of advice and recommendations, and using some of their amazing partner suppliers made things so easy for us! Our wedding day was perfect, one of the best things was that on the actual day we enjoyed ourselves from start to finish. This was so important as we knew that we weren’t going to be able to relive the day, we wanted to make the most of it and it’s thanks to Lara, Matt and their team that we were able to do this. As well as the big things – epic venue, great hosts, beautiful accommodation etc. there were so many small details that made us feel really special. Launcells Barton is the ideal wedding venue and would highly recommend it to anyone. We’d also like to thank Lara and Matt so much for giving us a day that we can look back on for the rest of our lives with such overwhelming happiness and joy.

Launcells is such a special place and you’ve really made it into the most wonderful venue. What can we say… booking a venue which wasn’t yet built, in a town we’d never been to seems like a crazy idea when we think back. But putting our faith in Matt and Lara was the best decision. The whole planning process was a breeze with Lara on hand to answer all our questions. When we finally saw the venue, three days before the big day…despite the fog, we could tell it was as beautiful as the Skype videos we’d seen. The house is amazing, with more than enough space for a full bridal party. The walled garden was the perfect spot for an outdoor ceremony; a real sun trap which literally smells of roses! And the barn and grounds which provided so many areas for our guests to enjoy. We had the most amazing wedding and mini adventure in Bude, thanks team Launcells! So nice that we both feel like old friends rather than supplier and client. Sure you guys don’t fancy a trip over to Melbourne!? x”

It is difficult to put into words just how much we feel you contributed to us making our weekend so special. Always on hand to answer our many questions, accommodating to our parents and suppliers, ready to give considered advice (that was always spot on!), your calm, professional, experienced and flexible approach meant that we had the day of our dreams. What I learnt from all of this was that the worry was a complete waste of time – not only did you have everything in hand but you thought of and dealt with things that I did not even think of. From early on the Saturday morning I really felt like a bride. And you being there was the biggest part of me feeling this way: the way you dealt with the bagpipes, to the way you facilitated the registrar visit, to the way you said ‘don’t worry I will sort out your dress’ as I was about to walk down the aisle amongst many other things you did, allowed me to feel like the most perfect bride and for us to have truly the best day ever. And I am pretty certain that people who chose to get married elsewhere do not get this treatment. From the moment we visited it, we knew it was the perfect place and didn’t even consider anyone else. We loved the feel, the accommodating nature and the feeling that you would all do anything you could to accommodate us. I am getting quite emotional as I write this! Thank you just doesn’t seem to cover it but we are so grateful and thankful we found you and Launcells Barton – there is nothing we would change about the experience. It was a pleasure meeting you both and, without sounding patronising, I have found your determination and approach to building up this venue very inspirational.

Dan and I first visited Launcells Barton on a rainy January afternoon and were immediately taken with Lara and Matt’s enthusiasm and the sheer beauty of the venue. We knew it was the perfect venue for the relaxed feel we wanted but also enough of a blank canvas that we could make it our own. All the time, money and effort planning was completely worth it on the day – despite having an uninvited guest in the form of ‘Storm Brian’ with his gale force winds and driving rain…! Luckily Launcells Barton proved the perfect choice and the weather was soon forgotten as the beauty of the venue is as much about its interior as its exterior – a quality we had struggled to find at other venues. Lara & Matt supported us through the day perfectly! One thing that was really important to me was that the evening had a good ‘flow, I really wanted to avoid a venue where guests were segregated into different rooms depending on whether they were at the bar, relaxing or dancing and the main barn was perfect for this. I honestly couldn’t fault the entire weekend and would do it all again in a heartbeat – rain included! Thank you so much to Lara, Matt, and the rest of the Launcells team for helping us create the wedding of our dreams!

Every bride dreams up the perfect wedding day and looking back, that is just what we had! There isn’t one thing I would change about our special day, and so much of that comes down to the venue and incredible atmosphere set by Matt, Lara, and the team at Launcells. Despite living in London and organising guests from all over the world, the planning was made easy and fun as we partnered with Matt and Lara, who became instant friends. Launcells has all the amenities of a high-end wedding site, and yet maintains the relaxed, family-feel of Cornwall that we so desired. I loved being able to put our own touches on the wedding, bringing to life all of those Pinterest-worthy ideas I had gathered! Above all, the day was made perfect by having all our friends and family in one place to celebrate with us. As James and I rushed off to snag that dreamy sunset photo (made possible by Lara’s expert timing!), we looked back and saw our guests laughing, chatting, and making forever memories on a gloriously sunny Cornish day.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do we have venue hire for?
You have the venue from 12 noon the day before your wedding, until 12 noon the day after and accommodation for 2 nights. That gives you plenty of time to set up the day before and enjoy the whole weekend with your friends and family!
Is it exclusive use?
Yes! We only host one wedding a weekend, so you have complete exclusivity for the entire weekend!
Is there someone to run our day?
Yes! Our amazing and very experienced co-ordinators will co-ordinate and run your day, so you can relax and enjoy every moment!
