Kate Beaumont creates understatedly beautiful wedding dresses for modern brides – each one designed and handmade at her studio in Sheffield, Yorkshire.
Kate’s studio houses her own collection of wedding dresses, made from finest quality silks and French laces. These are high-end luxury fabrics, and really do look and feel incredible.
“To me, how a dress feels when its on is just as important as it looks, and my brides always comment on how gorgeous their dresses feel to wear.”
“I offer private consultations at my studio which usually last about an hour-and-a-half. This is a relaxed and friendly space where you can try on any of my dresses and we can discuss options for bespoke designs. I run all consultations and fittings myself, meaning I get to know all my brides personally, which I love.”
“When I’m commissioned I take your measurements, along with a deposit to enable me to start working on your dress. I’ll then begin drafting your patterns and working on your first toile – a mock-up of your wedding dress to check the fit and refine design details. Most dresses generally require at least three fittings.”
“Early booking is always advised. I like to be working on each dress for around six months. That said, I’ll always do my best to fit in brides with shorter deadlines – my husband and I booked our wedding only three months in advance, so I do appreciate that a long lead-time isn’t always possible!”
