Known for her signature use of fresh and modern embellishments, feminine forms, and delicate beadwork, Lizzie McQuade is a London-based, Scottish milliner who creates hats and headpieces for the expressive, romantic woman.

Inspired by the rich embroidery of couture, 60’s pop culture, the wild countryside of her home in Scotland, sculpture, travel and art, Lizzie utilises her skills in traditional millinery, embroidery, leather-work, beading and hand-dying techniques to creates modern pieces that are striking but easy to wear. Lizzie and her team believe that the love and care that goes into the hand crafting process is intrinsic to what makes a hat or headpiece so special and unique to the wearer.

After a career in the fashion industry, Lizzie found her passion for millinery and trained with some of London’s best milliners – Piers Atkinson and Noel Stewart – before being selected by Stephen Jones and the British Fashion Council to present her collections as part of the ‘Headonism’ initiative at London Fashion Week. This platform saw her brand garner international attention and success.

She then launched her first bridal collection in 2015; a selection of feminine yet modern, intricately embellished, hand crafted hats and headwear.
Lizzie has always been drawn to bridal looks and often worked within the industry thanks to her love of romantic fabrics and finishes. After three years of working on bespoke pieces in collaboration with real brides, and on her own wedding pieces, Lizzie now creates collections of wedding day headwear influenced by what real women want to wear on their wedding day. Her pieces are regularly featured by publications such as Brides, You and Your Wedding, and Rock and Roll Bride.

Every piece is made by hand using artisan techniques in her East London studio. Lizzie also loves the process of creating a bespoke piece in close partnership with brides-to-be; learning about their style, dreams and vision for their day, and creating a piece which captures all of that is such a joy!
