Hi there, I’m Lydia! I want to personally congratulate you on your engagement and thank you for stopping by my little page here at The Little Book for Brides. You must be so excited to be on your planning journey, making your day real. But I also understand it can be a little overwhelming and scary, especially the photo bit.
Most of the couples I work with tell me they hate having their photo taken, or they’re not photogenic. Sound familiar? Don’t stress, your wedding photography doesn’t need to be awkward or cheesy. My approach is relaxed and natural, with no posing or hours of formal shots. I won’t yell at your guests or herd them round like sheep, I’ll spend most of the time under the radar capturing all the emotion and the moments of your day that make it unique and special. Your Dad seeing you as a bride for the first time, your husband to be welling up as you come down the aisle, and your mates on the dance floor.
I started this job back in 2011. I was a wedding nut, obsessed with blogs and all the detail and pretty surrounding weddings and photography was my hobby. But life changed when I lost my darling Mum soon after my own wedding, and I realised that was why photographs were so important. Photos have the ability to freeze a moment, and transport you back there. To capture the detail you may miss on the day, allowing you to hold onto it forever as your memories fade. I realised life was short, I wanted to get out of the office and make this my life’s work, and I’ve not looked back since. I adore capturing the most important moments in my couple’s lives for them.
I’m based in the countryside just outside of Salisbury, Wiltshire but travel across the world for weddings so do ask me on an adventure! I live in a little village with my husband, our little boy and two fur babies. I love cooking up a storm with friends and family, roast potatoes are my speciality and I’m addicted to the colour turquoise. But I’m looking forward to hearing more about you.
