Pynes House is an exclusive use country house wedding venue set in 37 acres of the beautiful Exe Valley, but only minutes from the cathedral city of Exeter. The house itself is steeped in history and has long enjoyed associations with the great and the good (including inspiring Jane Austen in her novel, Sense and Sensibility). It has undergone a recent sensitive restoration to blend the wealth of architectural features (including a glorious stained glass window and grand entrance hall) with contemporary style and comforts.
Alongside 12 luxury and beautifully styled bedrooms, there are a number of magnificent state rooms, with capacity to seat up to 90 for a sit-down meal and up to 130 for a ceremony. For larger weddings or or if you’d like your wedding reception to be outside, a marquee can be positioned on the lawns, with the house and breathtaking countryside as a magnificent backdrop.
Guests can enjoy drinks on the lavender and rose terrace and amongst the formal parterre gardens, play croquet on the lawns or take a walk in the ancient woodland. In colder months, enjoy open crackling fires with no need to worry about the weather outside.
