Delphine Manivet ~ Bringing French Chic Style To Your Wedding Day Wardrobe…

Earlier this month, the Designer Wedding Show took place in London – a bi-annual event that brings together some of the most well-regarded Designers in the Wedding Industry under one-roof and celebrates the 'exceptional, the exquisite and the finest of everything' in the wedding industry.

I was unable to attend the event due to having given birth only a few weeks prior, however, my dear and lovely friend, Photographer Emily Quinton, offered to do some information gathering on my behalf {thank you so much Emily!} and I received a rather fabulous parcel a couple of weeks back stuffed full of leaflets and promotional postcards that were just bursting with pretty pictures.  One that immediately grabbed my attention, was that of Parisian based bridal wear designer, Delphine Manivet – a designer who I have actually been swooning over for some time now.  I realised there and then that it was high time I shared this talented designer's work with my readers…

Isn't that veil above just too beautiful for words? Photographed by one of my favourite ever wedding photographers, the beautiful (I'm talking inside, as well as out!) Elizabeth Messina, and if you haven't come across her inspiring, affectionate and often very moving 'Kiss The Groom' Blog, you must go see it today.

Here is the veil in all it's full length glory…

Coiffe annee 20 gros

Already very popular over in France, and rapidly establishing her fan base over here in the UK, French designer Manivet created her brand after she got married herself, and decided that she wanted to share with others, her vision for the modern Brides…

"The search for my own wedding dress made me want to share with other women my vision of the modern bride, that of a woman who doesn’t necessarily get married at 20, who doesn’t want to look like a meringue, but who wants the dress she imagined in her little girl’s dreams…"

The designs that make up Manivet's latest collection are categorised as either 'short' or 'long' dresses.  I love the style of the lengthier gowns, which evoke a sense of 1930's glamour; draped silk and dropped waists feature alongside lace sleeves and high collars.  The shorter dresses offer a more bohemian look and low cut backs feature throughout – Manivet seems to have taken inspiration from a across a number of decades, but the resulting collection works beautifully…

I adore this bohemian style skirt below left – I'd totally love to see a Bride wearing this, along with a simple top like the silk vest as below, on her wedding day – a simple garland of flowers in the hair {like the one in the very first image above} and loose 'looks like I just picked them fresh' bouquet of wild flowers would look perfect…

A more daring flapper girl style and a quite stunning shot with an old-fashioned style pram – I simply adore this dress design…

I love the way that Manivet juxtaposes the more vintage style gown alongside more alltogether contemporary designs in her latest collection…
