A Tiered, Edwardian Lace Wedding Dress for a Beatrix Potter Inspired English Summer Wedding…

Good afternoon 😉 Well it's about time I featured some nuptials on these pretty wedding blog pages isn't it? 🙂 And I'm so looking forward to featuring this charming Summer time and quintessentially English wedding with you, it is just a delight and completely appeals to my slightly more eccentric, whimsical nature too 🙂

Artist Millie McCallum met her Husband George at University six years ago – the two tied the knot on 18 June with a Church ceremony followd by a reception at Millie's parents garden in Nunburnholme, East Yorkshire.

Mille – a regular reader of Love My Dress, discovered her wedding dress suppliers 'Heavenly Vintage Brides' via these blog pages…

"I loved everything about my dress! I felt like I was wearing a piece of history.  It fit me perfectly – the lace is so delicate and beautiful and what I didn't realise until the day was that it was so fun to wear and dance in with the tiered skirt.

Basically, it was exactly what I imagined my wedding dress would be like.  I would like to wear it every day!"

One of the cutest aspects of this wedding day is how the flowersgirls and little boys all dressed up as Beatrix Potter Characters. I would have given my left leg to do this when I was a littley!

"The girls were Mrs Tittlemouse {pink stripey dress with bow} and Jemima Puddle Duck {dress made of feathers}.  The boys were Samuel Whiskers {green jacket, mustard trousers}, Tom Kitten {all in one suit with pie-crust cullar} and Peter Rabbit {blue jacket, cream shorts}.

Each of my little Beatrix Potter characters were between 3 and 6 years old…"

I just love the tiered detailing of this vintage lace gown, it is so incredibly delicate.  A completely unique original vintage find.  What a lucky lady…

"Our Florist Fiona Hogg made my floral headpiece.  I LOVED my flowers –  Fiona was amazing and totally understood my ideas.

What she did on the day was prettier than I had ever invisaged and really understated.  They were mant to lok like they were straight out of the garden and they absolutely did.  I basically got married that time of year just for the flowers!"

"We just wanted a laid back, pretty English Summer wedding, that wa very much our own.  Luckily, I have an amazing family who worked tirelessly gardening, sign making, sewing, putting out lanterns, laying tables, and making our bell tent fit for kings to sleep in on our wedding night!

It was all the helping hands that allowed us to do little touches that helped make our wedding so unique and individual…"
