I was having a bad morning. The to do list was killing me and I was feeling a little sorry for myself. And then I read this beautiful post by Joanna Brown, which gave me the push I needed to get me through my morning.  And then, just before lunchtime, an email arrived. It made me smile and feel all warm inside, so, I decided to interrupt the blog post schedule this afternoon to share it with you – with full permission from the Bride and Groom, of course.  That second photograph down – get's me *right* there….

Hi Annabel! :)   How are you?

I don't know if you remember me, I was this desperate bride back in February who was asking for advice regarding possibly cancelling my wedding ceremony.  You had asked me to tell you what we would decide to do in the end.

Well, we decided to cancel the wedding we had planned in Germany. As many of your readers suggested and after I brought the idea to Jan (my husband), who loved it, we decided to go on our honeymoon a little earlier, and plan in the middle of it an Irish-beach-elopement. We noted guests who had expressed the desire to come to our wedding no matter what [or where it was held] and changed the meeting point , after much research and talks with locals, to Castlerock, Northern Ireland…

The reason why I am a Wedding Blogger...

I cannot thank enough you and your readers for helping us out via the Love My Dress Facebook page. Lots of people wrote me an email afterwards, offering to help us, organise things for us, give us discounts, scout locations for us.   It was truly amazing to see & feel people being moved by our story and just wanting to help us.

Having never been in Ireland, the help was more than precious and our day could have never been the same without the help of those people. So thank you, thank you, thank you!

Also, I don't know if they would be interesting to you, but since the beginning of our Irish adventure started with you & your blog, I thought if we were to submit our photos anywhere, we would send them to you first.

We haven't received them all yet, but I'm so excited about our amazing photographer Tim {from This Modern Love} and the preview he posted that I thought I'd write to you now…

Feel absolutely free to decline, it really isn't the most important, the main message of my email was to thank you :)

Looking forward to hearing from you and I wish you a beautiful day!

Best greetings from afar,

Stefanie :)

    Stefanie (the bride ;))

  4. What wonderful validation for the power of a community – and how you have created this with LMD. The fact that Stefanie’s wedding looks AMAZING and she’s absolutely stunning, is a happy bonus :) Gorgeous sneak peek – can’t wait to see more!

  5. A ‘similar’ thing happened to me where most of my paternal relations refused to attend our wedding. My husband and I were very hurt but we didn’t change our plans. I decided that at the end of the day, it is about our love, our home and our future. I’m so glad they found a place of peace and went ahead. Can’t wait to see the pictures x

  6. Congratulations Stefanie & Jan, it looks like you had an amazing day and truly deserved it.
Your pictures are stunning, I love the first one, your blue cardigan is so striking! Can’t wait to see more of the detail.
