Romantic Red and Delicate Lace for a Jim Hjelm Blush Bride…

"Look at wedding blogs – they are a great source of inspiration, also, try to focus on the reason you are getting married – try not to get to wrapped up in getting everything 'perfect'…."

Good afternoon gorgeous people :)  Time to share a beautiful and inspirational, completely and utterly gorgeous real wedding with you. And today, it's all about red roses and delicate lace.

Emma and Julien tied the knot on 27 August 2011, at Chelsea Old Church, followed by a reception at Cheyne Walk Brasserie, a beautiful French restaurant, also in Chelsea, London.

Emma wore a beautiful Jim Hjelm Blush design – a purchase from the highly renowned Blackburn Bridal Couture in London – as was Emma's simply divine lace veil…

"I chose the dress because it complimented my figure so well, and I loved the look of vintage lace.  I wanted our wedding to have a vintage feel to it – not something that represented any era necessarily, just something that felt like, and represented 'us'…"

"Lisa Britton did our flowers – I wanted to capture a vintage feel with my flowers – and with the venue having strong colours, we went for traditional red and pink roses. We used original vintage crystal vases to display all the flowers and pearls at our reception…"

"Julian and I met 5 years ago, outisde a not-so-nice Shoreditch club. I was about to leave when Julian smiled at me and said hello, and, well, here we are 5 years later, getting married!"

I'd usually include some words of wedded wisdom here, but I liked today's words so much, I put them at the top of the page 🙂

I just love this wedding – these images speak for themselves don't they? Look at hte way Julien embraces Emma when they're kissing, it's so romantic! Thank you so much Julian and Emma for sharing your beautiful day with my readers.  And huge thanks a always to McKinley Rodgers for sharing their beautiful images too. You can see more from McKinley Rodgers Photography on Love My Dress here.

Is anyone else using the colour red to style the wedding day? I'd love to hear from  you. I've seen a lot of pretty paste colours of late, but not too much of beautiful, romantic red.  I'd love to be able to feature more of it on Love My Dress.

Much love all,

Annabel
