I know I’ve said it before but I really do have the best job in the world. I’m phenomenally proud to be a tiny part of an industry that’s so full of talented and creative people and I just love how diverse the wedding world has become. No more formulaic wedding days with identikit elements and, whilst I totally get that having to make so many more decisions does make planning the big day a bit tougher, I think we can all agree that choice is always a good thing.
With that in mind, I’m really happy to be able to introduce you today to Lace & Liberty because they’re giving you truly fantastic options for your wedding gown.
Lace & Liberty is a company born from more than 16 years of friendship and extensive experience of wedding dress shopping! After comparing their adventures at boutiques around the world, founders Danielle and Jacqui came together to launch Lace & Liberty, an online store that allows you to select your favourite bridal separates from a wide choice of tops and skirts to create your ideal wedding outfit.
“Our mission is to provide options,” says Danielle. “With bridal separates and our ‘dress builder’, brides can mix and match to view hundreds of wedding day looks to find out what suits them best. Finding exactly the right style is always tough – if only this mermaid gown could be one-shoulder instead of strapless – and of course, cost is always a factor too.”
And so the first Lace & Liberty collection was designed to really appeal to the modern bride who values style but also wants to stick to a sensible budget. You’ll find A-line, mermaid, sheath and ballerina skirts alongside strapless, V-neck, long sleeve, off the shoulder and one-shoulder tops in the Lace & Liberty range with both bridal tops and bridal skirts starting at just $400. Once you’ve selected basic pieces, you can also add on additional embellishments to create your own look.
“The Lace & Liberty bride is a woman who has found the love of her life and can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends whilst looking and feeling her best,” explains Jacqui. “However, she is also a woman who isn’t going to answer ‘yes’ to the question ‘is your wedding dress the most important part of the day?’ and is going to think about what they’re spending.
Ultimately, what drives Lace & Liberty is to give this bride the freedom to choose their dress but not have to trade-off and style and quality against what you can sensibly afford.”
Lace & Liberty also understand that buying online can seem like a bit of a risk so they’ve carefully thought through things to make the process much easier. The interactive ‘looks we love’ gallery allows you to click on images and see what separates make up each look and the dress builder gives you the chance to play around with hundreds of combinations so you can mix and match separates until you find the look for you.
When it comes to the purchase, every product is made to order and you can either provide your standard sizes or opt for a made to measure service. And, as a final dose of reassurance, all products can be returned within 14 days if you’re not happy with your bridal separates when they arrive.
I have to say that this is something I would certainly try (especially after playing with the dress builder!) – I love the thought of changing my top or skirt for my evening reception or re-using a top I love well after my wedding. I’m also not a standard size all over so being able to order a top and bottom to fit sounds rather brilliant to me. So, thank you Lace & Liberty for bringing a bit of sensible practicality to the wedding world without compromising on selection or style.
Lace & Liberty is a global company that works with brides around the world via their online store.
