Hello you wonderful lot! Having spent hours online scrolling through hair accessories for my own nuptials, I’ve been completely bowled over today by bride Alba’s stunning headdress, which she wore to her beautiful boho luxe style wedding to beau Junior in La Coruña, Spain. Such a knock-out piece.

We love to occasionally feature non British weddings so it’s a pleasure today to be able to introduce you to this lovely newlywed couple. Alba, an eye doctor, and Junior an emergency and family doctor, met at the hospital they both worked at and were engaged on a summer trip to Cyprus. They planned their big day in just 8 months, with a nail-biting change of dress just 10 days before the wedding.
The flowergirl wore these gorgeous tutu dresses, also from BHLDN – how adorable! And that statement headpiece is the Martha Rose Crown Headband by Rock n Rose – which costs just £38! I’ll hand over to Alba to tell you more…
“We had to do it all in 8 months or postpone it for a much longer time because of work issues, so we decided to just do it in our way. We wanted to be creative but with good taste. I love handcraft and Boho chic style.”
Susana Rios captured these effortlessly beautiful photographs.
“She was very professional, and was able to capture the best moments. Photos are one of the most important parts of the wedding, because you will keep them forever.”
I absolutely love US wedding supplier BHLDN, where Alba found her beautiful gold sequinned wedding gown, eventually…
“It was not really the dress I choose, but I think this dress and I were someway meant to be. My dress was the first wedding dress I loved…but as there’s no BHLDN in Spain, I didn’t consider it. My real dress was designed by myself, and requested from a Designer. Ten days before the wedding the dress was such a disaster I couldn’t wear it.”
“I spent the worst days in my life…but I decided to look for a solution instead of crying. I remembered that dress I saw months ago on the internet, and bought it online… BHDLN was amazing as they knew I was a bride with no dress and they sent it in 5 days!!! When I tried it on…it was perfect. No alterations, just a little taken in the waist”
Despite the stress of finding a new wedding dress in 10 days, Alba put her surgical skills to good use and hand-crafted her fabulous veil!
“I had to change the whole outfit in 5 days, and this dress was asking for a veil, to become more ‘bride-like’. So I bought the best fabric I found, and sewed it up in to my flowered crown. I thought that if I could suture an eye…why not a veil?? Just to cheer me up with all I was going through!”
Alba’s envy-inducing gold heels were a gift from her friends.
“My friends knew the Jimmychoo ‘s I wanted…and they bought them to me!”
The bridesmaids wore dresses they chose themselves, in a soft, muted colour palette.
The couple had an unusual but fun prop for photocalls – a vintage caravan!
“We love caravans, and we made a vintage caravan for our wedding…It was all hand made. It was very fun for the children and also guests used it as a photocall! Now we hire it to other weddings and for publicity shoots”
Junior also wore an ‘engagement watch’ – such a lovely idea. It was Tissot, bought when Alba was living in New York.
The pretty floral arrangements are by Rebeca Senra, who was also the couple’s wedding planner.
Alba and Junior were wed in the most beautiful outdoor ceremony.
“My cousin David walked me down the aisle – we have been very close since we were little – while a violin and piano played Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
“One of my best friends is now a Judge so she could marry us and my friend Jana played the piano”
“I wanted a ring which I could wear with medical gloves…so we bought the most narrow I could find from Joya 36.”
I love this cup-cake wedding cake, especially the piped dove cake toppers!
Birdcages, lanterns and candles adorned the venue, creating that boho chic vibe.
Alba and Junior’s first dance was U2’s ‘With or Without You’, which brought back memories of their engagement.
“When Junior proposed in Cyprus, we were in a restaurant and a very talented singer was playing this song on the guitar as he noticed Junior what Junior was asking me.”
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“Be aware of the wedding-world – there are a lot of non-professional people that want benefit out of our dreams. Just hire people with right references.”
Wow, utterly gorgeous! Congratulations to Alba and Junior and thank you for showing us how to do boho chic Spanish style – I’m sure LMD readers from across the globe will find plenty to inspire them from these wonderful images. My thanks also go to Susana Rios for allowing us to share such beautiful photography on the blog today.
