I'm so drowning in fabulous wedding photographs at the moment, I've had so much fun pulling this particular feature together. Our lovely Bride Lisa-Marie is clearly still glowing from the memory of her beautiful day back in September 2009, when, after a 10 year romance, she finally tied the knot with her life love, Jon, at ceremony held at St John's Church on the Green, Havering-atte-Bower, followed by, quite frankly, one heck of a stunning marquee, held at Lisa-Marie's parents house in Emerson Park, Essex.
"Getting married was really a big deal for us. We had been together 10 years, and wanted to throw a big party to celebrate that. Im not a conventional Bride, I didn't want 'all eyes on me', and we didn't talk about the Wedding to anyone, we didn't even tell anyone a thing until they saw it for themselves on the Big day. It was all very personal to us, and in my eyes the most important part was standing at the front of the church saying my vows to Jon. We didn't really have a particular style – but Jon and I are quite quirky
so we tried to bring our personalities into it. I wanted old Hollywood
Glamour for my look, and we went with a London & Diamond theme to
incorporate a city we Love and Jon's profession (white taxis, red bus,
post box, menu, diamond favours etc)".

Manolo Magic…
"My shoes were from Manolo Blahnik, and I had bought them months
before we were even engaged! They were the blue shoes Sarah Jessica Parker wore in Sex And The City The Movie, for her Wedding to ‘Big’, not the doomed Wedding, the Wedding they
actually went through when it was just the two of them. The sentiment
of that really touched me, as I believe the day is all about the Bride
and Groom, not the big circus that is a Wedding. Jon and I were on
holiday in Vegas and they were in the shop window and I just blurted out
‘those are the shoes i want to get married in’ and within 5 minutes Jon
had me inside with them on! He was the one insisting I buy them – so I
did – and saved them in the bottom of my wardrobe until the big day!"
Lisa's fabulous wedding dress and her veil too, were from Bellissima Weddings in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex.
"It was only about the 5th dress I had tried on – with each one was saying ‘I like this bit, but not that bit’. Before I had even been done up in this particular dress, I had butterflies, just stepping into it felt amazing! The girl helping me was still under my skirt pulling it all out when i said ‘Oh my God, I think this is THE dress!’, and she said she could see I was absolutely beaming! I walked out of the changing room and my Mum cried, so i knew instantly! However, I don’t think i actually fell ‘In Love’ with my dress until the final fitting, and we took it home. As I walked out of the shop with it in my arms, thats the moment i knew it was ‘the dress’ and i had made the right choice!"
Flowers & Feather Perfection…
Lisa Marie's gorgeous hair accessory was from the same boutique she purchased her dress and veil from…
"It was actually in a glass cabinet in Bellissima Weddings, and I said to the
assistant 'I love that', she replied 'thats actually a bouquet!'
However, they got it out and we played with it, and they made it into a
hair piece for me! I even added ANOTHER bouquet into it to make it as
big as possible! PERFECT"
Lisa's Hair Stylist on the Day was Jaid Cordery, and her Makeup
Artist was Frederic Letailleur from Armani
in Selfridges, London.
"I wore only earrings, which Jon gave me as my
Wedding gift. I LOVE Pearls, they are so beautiful, and he made me (he
is a jeweller) a diamond stud with a pearl drop earring. As his gift i
got him (which he made again!) matching pearl cufflinks."
"We were thrilled with our flowers. Jon had a mini version of my bouquet
as his button hole, which looked great in all the photos! I had all
white Hydrangeas, tulips, freesia, eucalyptus and sprigs of mint with
lots of scattered diamonds. My Bridesmaids had exact replicas as mine
only a little smaller and the Best Man/Ushers has smaller versions of
Jon's. We followed through with this and had the same again as our pew
ends and table decorations for the Top Table. Our florist was Fleur
Couture. We choose Hydrangeas as the 'main' flower as we didn't want a 'uniformed'
look, we wanted them to look wild and pretty. Jon always buys me
Tulips, and my Mum had freesia in her Wedding bouquet so we wanted to
follow that tradition! we finished them with mint as it smells to fresh!"
Bonny Bridesmaids all in Blue…
"Jon and I knew exactly how we wanted everyone to
look, so we found the most amazing Tailors, and had all our Wedding
Parties outfits made to measure from the images we had in our heads! The Bridesmaids dresses were made by Sarah North. Their shoes were from ASOS and they had Swarovski headbands. As a gift, I gave all my Bridesmaids name necklaces
from Tatty Devine, but they didnt get them until the
evening reception!"
"All the boy's suits, including Jon's, were Handmade by Brightbart tailors of Leeds – telephone +44(0)113-2449319. They each
choose the lining to make them individual. Jon had bright pink so I
matched my nailvarnish to it!"
Being Transported in Style…
The very lucky Bride and Groom had an Aston Martin on loan from Lisa-Marie's Mum and hired White Taxis from Eros Wedding Taxis. The London bus transported guests to the Church and reception venue…
And because there are so many fantabulous photographs I have lined up to share with you for this particular wedding, I'm going to make you wait for Part 2! 🙂
Feel the fantastically-stylish love people!
