The Project:Me Hen Party – Sewing & Knitting for the Cupcake & Champagne Generation…

Bored of L-Plates, cowboy hats and all the usual hen party extravaganzas?  Fancy something fun that involves a little champas, a few tasty cupcakes and even…… a naked male?  🙂

I'm talking purely in 'artistic' terms here of course!  It's all about observation (you can look but not touch!), and well, a bit of life-drawing, if you fancy it!   If that's not up your street, how about learning how to make your own pretty heart hangers to display photographs at your wedding (perhaps images of your parents own weddings?), or how about designing and creating your own pretty (saucy?) garter, or crafting your own confetti cones to match your wedding style and theme?  With Project:me, you can do all this and more!

Described as a "workshop which teaches sewing and knitting to the cupcake and champagne generation", Project:me was born from a belief that it's time to resurrect the skills and resourcefulness of our foremothers for pleasure, rather than necessity.  From beginners
wanting to sew a button on to frustrated designers wanting to customise
their wardrobe and whip up some original presents, everyone is catered
for. Naughty life drawing courses and garter making is also on offer for
hen parties wanting a break from the norm…

Project:Me founder Sandra told me; "We’re bored of the same tired hen night formula and decided that cupcakes, champagne and a spot of ‘life drawing’ with a rather delicious male model would make a compelling alternative!"

Oooh indeed! Well, I can't say I'd turn my nose up at that!

Based in the heart of trendy Balham (London), the Project:me

two hours, aided by a cupcake or three and your tipple of choice.  The
instructors are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate about giving
their charges both a useful skill and a creative outlet.

"We are happy to tailor the evening around The Hen herself and will
make
sure you all have a fabulous evening and a refreshing change from the
norm."

Project:Bride…

"Project:me also offers fantastic bridal workshops which allow you to make your day individual and unique.  There are so many options and choices involved in ‘The Big Day’ and we think it might be rather special to design your own placemats, bunting, name tags, invitations and accessories yourself!

We offer a range of budges and packages to allow you the exact theme you want and as much guidance as you need from our team to help you achieve it…"

With an impressive waiting list and a staggering response from both
the press and local businesses it seems Project:me have achieved the
impossible of making arts and crafts fabulous – hoorah! 🙂

"We want you to share the pride and satisfaction we have in creating your own pieces and equip you with skills which are useful, money saving and above all fun!  We really believe that what you learn at project:me will benefit you enormously, for many years to come and  give you time out from the raging consumerism of today, to appreciate the little things again.  We also like to think that a couple of hours playing with pretty things over a glass of wine and cupcake or two can’t be all bad!"
